Dispatches are up!! (1 Viewer)

Ihave collected all the poly warbirds since they came out plus the 2 older ones but i think i will have to pass on the typhoon:( , this is the one i wanted the most aswell:(
I thought it was a pricing mistake like the panther

369.00 for the Tyfoon {sm2} Wow but I love this plane {bravo}}

Harrie:salute::

The Typhoon at $369 is a no go for me as well:(.....I cannot justify those numbers irregardless of supposed manufacturing costs......Sorry.....That price is Simply out of Control..... I would have guessed around $299....C'est la vie....I will have to live without it.

That "Robert the Bruce" set is very nice! :) Is this a "one-off" for this historical period or are there more to come and the start of a new series?

Was this intentional by K&C? {sm2} It's a great idea to produce small vignettes/dioramas with interesting stories behind them. Similar to what Aeroart does. A new collector can build a number of these and show them off to family/friends/visitors and impress them with the historical aspects behind each scene. A facinating learning experience for the viewers too! This may be a good way to keep the hobby affordable to more collectors wanting their little piece of handmade history. I like it! :)

What's next? "Custer's Last Stand" would be another good one! ^&grin

Looks like we now know the release price of the Typhoon. At $369.00 it is more than I had anticipated but it is still within reach for those who truly want it. I'm still getting mine. It will look fantastic with a few ground crew next to the Spitfire !!!

Well ,I am going to put my preorder in for the new DAK figs and Panzerjager. Those
new DAK figs are awsome!!!! {sm4}

Rob, thanks as always for posting these.

Really a nice round of releases. Obviously the Typhoon is great, and I expected the Naps along with the Ancient in Egyptian.

But I'm a big fan of the AK troops in their greatcoats. And the Robert the Bruce/Bannockburn(sp?) MK set is quite something.

The price of the Typhoon was a bit of a shock though, but I'll leave that for the Typhoon thread.

Great to see so many new AK sets released.

The SL "Robert the Bruce" set is a real treat but the figures will be used in battle against the Saracens.

I don't think its truly in reach for many who want it at all. I think it may be out of reach for many who want it may be more the truth

On the dispatches I will look forward to seeing the other variants of the morris truck a nice outside the box AFV for me

Come on, Too much dwelling on the Typhoon. Yeah $369 is high but I am sure we have spent more than $369 at one time on the Hobby we love.

Agree, Mitch. Don't think the Tiffie is within the reach of a lot of the people who wanted it. All one has to do is read this thread or the one on the Tiffie since the price was announced, to see this truth. A $110 increase over the P-47 might be an aberration, but then again, it might not be. Be interesting to see what the much anticipated Stuka eventually prices out at. -- Al

The PanzerJager is just beautiful, I'm waiting for the grey as well, the SL is calling to me for sure and selected Nap in egypt is also great. After getting the first Cleopatra set I'm not inclinded for this one. it will be interesting to see how the Typhoon plays out, people have there undies in a bunch right now due to sticker shock, but it's one of the most if not the most beautiful warbirds produced (polystone). We'll see in 6 weeks or maybe after Chicago when people actually see it in person where it really shakes out.:confused:

I have but times are tougher now.I wanted the Jenkins whaleboat real bad at one time but at $298 I just couldn't do it.I would LOVE to have Britains gunboat but it just isn't in reach.I think my words are in agreement with many and in the long run these high prices will hurt the hobby.

Al...

I said I would be stunned in a conversation about its anticipated price and due to size etc thought it would be similar in price to the other large aircraft. so, I am stunned. I think its a shame that many who want this will not be able to afford it as I would bet now with anyone it will not sell out anytime soon.

I would think the Stuka will not be possible in polystone but, as its a bigger aircraft the price would also be prohibitive to normal or average collectors which, for me, seems to be the main market we should be encouraging not pushing out of the hobby.

I have to agree in one sense. $369 for one very special item is not going to break collectors, but it may hurt. There is no question this looks like a special piece, and for those who get it, congratulations on adding it to your collection. I think the bigger concern is what this means for the polystone warbirds line on the whole. Prices have been rising steadily and in leaps at the same time. I bought the Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang, and FW-190 and really fell in love with the planes. Now, I wonder if I can afford to get that Typhoon (probably not because I can spend that on loads of pieces instead), Stuka, silver Mustang, Corsair, European theater ME-109, and others I hope K&C produces down the road. I am worried that I may have bought my last plane, and I imagine I am not nearly alone in that boat.

I agree, it is troublesome, where will it end? I don't blame the makers, I think it's more political, currency manipulation, welfare states, bailouts, taxes on this,taxes on that etc. If this was left to buyers and sellers life would be much simpler.:p

I agree. After the Typhoon is seen in person by collectors the sticker shock will wear off of some people.....but not all. I am taking the leap to get this bird. {sm2}

The new anticipated dispatches are out and a dark gray cloud looms overhead. Sounds like a lot of unhappy folks. Hope it all works out for the better !!! {sm2}
