Think your right Terry . It a shame
Because of limited War budget I don't collect AE, but this is another excellent release for this superb range, oh for more cash!;
Ok, I guess I am missing something here. This applies to the last posts in this strand how?
If it is a direction change you are entertaining then, yes I for one agree that the AE series is great! I really like the new Mummy in the coffin three piece set. I also do not collect it due to other priority lines.
Ludwig
Its neither. It is not linked at all to the previous posts and it is not meant to change direction either. This is the Dispatches thread that I started and as such any item in Dispatches can be discussed within this thread, I was looking back over the pics and had overlooked how good this item looks, so thought I'd flag it up, however feel free to continue with the Big three strand.

Rob...
I like the AE range but, only made one purchase the Chariot. I like the buildings from the range and the architecture but, don't go for many of these pieces as I like to build stuff myself. I may buy the mummy set as its a fascinating piece though

What a beautiful looking soldier/horse combo.! I do not collect this line but I am feeling the need to get this release. Nice job K&C. I also love the WS197 Sd. Kfz 234/1 Schwerer Panzerspahwagen as well as the newspaper gents!

I agree with you on the inaccuracy of the set and that yes it is most unfortunate indeed. It appears that the set was made up of a conglomeration of the two photographs as has been mentioned and other inaccuracies added or subtracted. I have attached the set and both photos for simplicity.

Now let us start with Stalin. He is actually the most accurate. It takes the pose from the next photo and the crossed legs from the last photo. He is correctly uniformed and wearing his great coat as he should be. His face sculpt is great.
Now on Roosevelt. He takes part of the pose and the cape from the next picture and the pin stripe suit from the last picture with colors inverted. The face sculpt is not very well done. The grin is in neither picture and seems over done. The cigar as you have pointed out is really wrong. Did he take it out of Churchill's hand?
Now Churchill. He has his military uniform and pose from the last picture. He holds the hat that was on his head from the first picture. The biggest failing being that he is not wearing his overcoat. I do not find his face sculpt very accurate. No cigar in his hand. It is obvious that even though there are various elements from both pictures the cold weather part needed to take precedence. I diss-like his pose as it almost looks subservient.
Perhaps some of these elements will look better in person as scans at times are not well representative of the figures.
I will not be purchasing one of these sets and do not see it being a big seller. However I am glad it was made for posterity.
For whatever it is worth...that is my two cents.

I totally agree with your comment Ludwig....The best for me is Stalin and the worst Churchill....He looks more like Gorbachev {sm4}
I don't see the resemblance to Gorby myself but, not many have said they will not be buying this set apart from a couple so, looks like it will be a welcome release.
We have seen one picture and, as has been said many times and proven many times the release pics often look worse than what is actually delivered to ones door. Only time will tell but, in this instance I think its a great set. I wonder how hard it would have been to make FDR as frail and gaunt as he looked at this conference.
lets make a sentence from the following: Equine, deceased, a, and, finally flog!!!!!

I think I've got it. Are you calling someone a horses *** {eek3}^&grin^&grin
