Dispatches are up! (1 Viewer)

But I'm REALLY SAD :(:(:( to see the Coldstream Guards be sent off the Napoleonic battlefield......

maybe they will be replaced very soon by more Allied Infantry???

I might just be wishing, but one senses that a clearing of the decks so to speak might herald the arrival of some Napoleonics in the next few months.

The Americans don't look too bad but the rifles look way too squared off and not detailed very good as does swords on other figures. The LAH building is basically the old one and a totally different Berlin builiding should have been the way to go. The jeeps top looks too plastic looking for me. The Hitler figure has the worst face sculpt of all the Hitler figures I ever seen and I don't see why they had to make another Hitler as there are so many other Third Reich personalities that could have been done that we haven't seen yet. I applaud they made American D Days figures and will get a few but for the most part this dispatch was a big let down for me.

The Skinner's Horse look great. I really want to add these to my collection. The quality of the horse and rider has me really excited to see the new Napoleonic cavalry that is due latter this year.

Obviously K & C are refining their manufacturing techniqes and it is nice to see tripods without the need for supporting sandbags. The "Big Red One" figures look good, but they've been stuck in the bocage for years now! What they want is some supporting armour to lead the break-out - perhaps a new Sherman?

The jeep is nice, I wonder if the Soviet "Lend-lease" version is intended to complement the winter T-34 due later this year. At some time, in addition to an 8th Army jeep, a British Normandy version would be most welcome.

Twenty of these grouped will look sweet!

A speer figure was done with the tour of inspection set a while ago but, I would like to see a version in his grey suit he almost always wore and, a late war version in brown trenchcoat would also be welcome. I would like to see another Goeballs figure as the one with the microphone was a bit too restrictive when being used with the rest of the series. julius streicher would be another prominant figure from that period to replicate

Liking the new LAH pieces. The building facade is a most welcome release. I'll also be getting the new Hitler as an alternative to the late-war 'Downfall' Hitler I've got in there at the moment. On the subject of LAH 'personalities', if K&C are listening, can we have more of these please? Those that immediately spring to mind being Joachim Von Ribbontrop, Wilhelm Keitel, and Albert Speer.

Markey- they do look nice dont they.

Can someone please enlighten me as the IC range is something I am considering (again) getting into- how do these newer spearmen and their uniforms differ from the current releases?? Are they perhaps from different units, different regions?

Thanks
C

Chris,
No idea on the uniforms and regions etc but look out for a Chinese movie called Red Cliffs (in two parts). Sub titled but great action scenes and this is the period covered by these figures and the previous leader figures. Has been mentioned in some other threads and there is also a major TV series (something like 80 hours) I have yet to get my hands on.

Brett

During these lazy "dog days of summer" I guess its not surprising we have a quiet dispatch with a smaller than average number of releases. For me the Jeep is the standout. {bravo}} May have to consider trading in my old DD-075 for this new one. I've always wanted a summer version with a tarp cover and now I've got one. The IC and SOE are nice but not my collecting focus. I generally don't collect action poses so the GI's are a pass. Its all good as I've got plenty to catch up on and there are plenty of releases to come.

As for retirements there are a lot. The Coldstream Guard Napoleonic marching troops and the D-Day Brits/Cdns storming the beaches seemed like they both just came out. I guess K&C are making way for some more Naps and D-Day releases in the future. Thats a whole lot of Brits being retired though!!! Luckily I'm good for both.

Well I'm in for the Jeep and the new GI's as they will all go nicely in my existing collection, also great news to hear of Jeeps coming for RAF, Desert and lend lease, you can't have too many Jeeps!:smile2:

I'm glad I have all the D Day Brits as they are retiring now, great wave of releases they were.

Rob

Great news about RAF jeep Rob just what we need {bravo}} and thank for posting dispatches{bravo}}

Well I was actually surprised at how little was released. 7 DDAY and a jeep; 3 SOE; 4 IC; 1 HK; 1 LAH Bldg and another Hitler. The world really needed another Hitler figure. I just do not understand the fascination with it or the line.

Well, I am glad I got my way on more Americans. I will pick up the DDAY Americans. I like the SOE but I stopped after about 9 pieces in the beginning. Just too much to continue some lines. I love and will pick up the IC pieces.

It amazes me that a company can stay afloat with such few releases sometimes, but obviously it works for KC and others.

All in all I will be getting over half the lot.

Hi Chris

The new 3 Kingdoms sub-range within the IC series is possibly one of K&C's most promising new releases ... Just my opinion of course. Glad if I may share some background info ...

This 3 Kingdoms sub-range covers the period from @ 220-280AD .. and differs from earlier K&C releases depicting the Qing Emperor Qian Long of the 1700s period. The "Romance of the 3 Kingdoms" is one staple of Chinese classic literature and covers a warring period following the breakup of ancient China's Han dynasty until subsequent reunification. It's study in the East is equivalent to the study in the West of the later Roman period from Caesar's wars until the breakup of the Roman empire.

The recent revival of popular interest stems from John Woo's 2008 two part movie titled Red Cliff, which depicts just one, but an important climatic battle between the 3 Kingdoms. The movie was followed by a 95 episode, 72 hour TV mini-series titled Three Kingdoms produced in 2010. Although dialoged in classical Mandarin, a superbly translated English dvd version is now available, I believe in Hong Kong (and on YouTube).

Only 5 earlier 3 Kingdoms figures have been released IC036 & 037 and IC043 to 045 depicting some of the principal characters. This latest Dispatch offers a couple of new infantry and the main heralds of the 3 states.

Hope you find useful.

Bests.

I' m happy for those who like " american soldiers", ("Hitler" N° 200) and " RAF".....For myself, KC has made nothing interesting for at least one year.....

A bit disappointed, but I am still working on my Marching Fusiliers and Mounted Colonel so I will survive until next time.

Congrats to the DDay Collectors; the SOE collectors; LAH dudes and RAF.

Time for me to show that I'm not totally an a** and make up for my stupidity on here lately!

SORRY EVERYONE!!!!!:redface2:

The new yanks look really good, love to see the new poses that are being produced! Don't collect the big red one series, but only because of lack of space for them, if I had a table top I would take the opportunity!^&grin

The standing sergeant would look great in a landing craft but!:wink2:

Scott

p.s I will be my usual happy chappy self from now on lads, I'm sure we may see something else for MG, maybe not brit paras but something! Even if we don;t, I'm happy!

I love dispatches time - but it is a case of the agony and the ecstasy. I hope that things are released for me but it is also a huge relief when they are not. I can enjoy other people's excitment, roll my eyes at the comments of people who seemingly are never happy and discuss with everyone in between. Another month to chip away at the ALH and NE!

Thanks Andy and Rob!

Look forward to the RAF jeep also but, hope we don't have another female driver. A pilot would be far more interesting for a change
