Dispatches is up!! (1 Viewer)

Rob,

Do you sleep near the computer?(LOL) There are some nice additions this month. Notably, is the panther with a very nice wheel detail and, the Schlepper and, some good action HJ. Top that with some excellent RAF crew including one my Grandfather new from school and, its a very good month for all collectors.

:D Pretty much!

For me I would say this is possibly the best Dispatch since all those superb Brit and Canadian D Day releases last year.

The Spit is the knockout for me,going to look so good next to my Hurricane..going to have to build an airfield now I think. The Panther also looks very nice and it will also sit next to my previous Normandy version.I didn't get the winter Schlepp so this summer version is also very welcome.I don't know how they do it,but month after month K&C continue to release stuff that is right on the money.

Rob

rob, thanks for the tip.

i really like the HJs.

and especially like the panther, though i wish there is unit insignia on that.

looks like i'm gonna get the HJs, and looking fwd to more of them in Sept.
:)

Depending on what you collect I have to agree that I cannot remember a set of releases that I was as impressed with. Had a good look at the figures and, the action pose of the HJ are really good. Love the way that the MG team allows you to decide where the guns crew can be positioned on sand bags /on a wall, or through the window of a building.

I was just about to put some pics of the last HJ panther which I have just converted for a mate and, now he releases one he will love. Hopefully, soon we will get a Jagpanther to accompany this release.

My pleasure mate.

I agree with Mitch about the Panther,Check out the tracks on it,looking very good.

And don't get me wrong, the FW190 is an absolutely stonkingly good release,a really nice model. But this Spitfire, well she's the No1 isn't she, most probably the most popular aircraft of all time and here she is for the 70th anniversary of her finest hour.If ever there was a K&C item that I didn't even have to think about, here it is.

Rob

Rob...

The best aircraft ever built was the spit. No other fighter was as good or adaptable and, in no way is this a criticism but, the only thing I would have liked as an englishman was to have had an english pilot owning the aircraft. That for me, would have been the icing on the cake.

Lots of awesome items!! I dont collect World War II anymore but sure makes me wish I still was. But no... that's over with now.

Hey Mitch,

I agree. And its not just about the aircraft either.I'm sure there are many people whose favourite aircraft is the ME109 or the FW 190 or the P51,but the Spit goes beyond aircraft popularity because for us it is a national icon(recently voted as such)because it stood for the spirit and determination of British defiance in those dark days of WW2.If an aircraft can indeed be beautiful, then with its sleek lines and wings the Spitfire truly is.

I guess the only downside to the Spit is that it did take a lot of Glory from the Hurricane, however between them they did the business and persuaded Hitler to go elsewhere.

Rob

The D-day landing Crafts and RAF spitfire look very good to me but not overly impressed with the rest....The refugees are a very interesting angle on the reality of war....well done.

Also good to see Andy also releasing US and Polish RAF pilots as a nod to their vital contribution to the victory in the Battle of Britain in the summer of 1940,as we all know it was a rainbow of nations that kicked Goerings backside and this country will always be grateful for their bravery, skill and sacrifice.

Likewise the WAAF's,whose contribution was just as vital and good to see it recognized in this series.

Well I did say it was a pilot from a country that had a decent Soccer team (New Zealand didn't lose a game), and Rob thought I was talking about Germans again, tsk, tsk tsk ;) :D

Rob, remember that the Spitfire wasn't a sure thing early stage in the thread, it could have been a Me 109 ;)
