Dispatches is up!! (1 Viewer)

I pre-ordered them, how can I have pictures yet? Look at the dispatches on the website and there are photos of the new RAF releases.

If you mean are there any pictures of my airfield diorama, there are tons of them on the treefrog forum. There are a bunch of recent ones on the Heco Tinplate Models thread under more glossy manufacturers (I have a small section at the back of the diorama with Heco aircraft & related items). Look at page 21 of the thread, post 207 and further on and you should see a bunch.

I meant the airfield you have, doesn't matter

For me, the schlepper accesory set is one of the best ideas by a manufacturer I have seen. I spent hours ensuring the bars were correct on the repaint/conversion on the grey blitz and, K&C now give you the bars which means with a bit of rolled and painted milliput you can half cover the schlepper and have tank riders in the rear.

I am not normally interested in some of the features creeping into the hobby like broken tracks or, internal detail but, fortunately, K&C steer away from this but, these little add on's are excellent.

I agree, all these things along with their structures and scenic add ons just give the collector a little more choice in how to display the item.

Also good to see Andy also releasing US and Polish RAF pilots as a nod to their vital contribution to the victory in the Battle of Britain in the summer of 1940,as we all know it was a rainbow of nations that kicked Goerings backside and this country will always be grateful for their bravery, skill and sacrifice.

Likewise the WAAF's,whose contribution was just as vital and good to see it recognized in this series.

Rob

Hmmmm.......some nation is missing? We've got Poles, Yanks, Kiwis....Who came to England's aid with trained pilots first and in large numbers? I've got it....you're friendly and good looking cousins across the pond, yes I mean CANADIANS. We deserve representation and recognition if you please Andy.

I thought the Winter version of the Schlepper was very nice, but with the summer version K&C have advanced it again, the removable roof and stowage load make this a good vehicle for dio scenes and duplication,I like the fact K&C are giving us lots of stowage/fuel options these days.

Rob

They look good, but it does bump up the cost which somewhat defeats the purpose of making AFVs with fewer figures to keep the cost down.

I agree, all the accesories are terrific as is the "two version", top or no top innovation. I'm seriously tempted to swap out my winter Schlepper and update with this version which would fit my interest in Normandy better. Great stuff.

Andy did say I would see some "Normandy Germans" in August, but I didn't expect this many - thanks Andy :)

Btw, I am happy to see more German SS in their late war "fancy pants" camo trousers return to the K & C ranks as I much prefer them to the earlier grey pant style. But then there are apparently some collectors that like grey stuff :)

I too like those "fancy pants" pea pattern camo smocks way more than the grey too! Its been awhile since we've seen some updated Normandy SS releases like this from K&C and I couldn't be happier! That Panther is sharp too, I prefer the wheels on it to my WS072 version, great update. :D

Yes but its not only about price, price is of course important, but so is variety and interest of subject. You could use this Schlepp in many different scenarios/dio's,and I like the fact that K&C are giving us variation in their releases. And there is always other things to balance them, such as the new Panther that is a very reasonable price and has two crew figures with it.

All true. I just think the accessories could be sold separately so collectors would have a choice of a base version or get the add-ons.

Terry

great dispatches, they put a big smile on my face as well as others i would bet. great job , great selection thanks

Yes also true and allows more choice,we like choice!;)

Just an observation and comment:

Andy,

The new figures being released are outstanding, however, for those of us that collect the American War of Independence line the release of only a few figures requires that we collect the same figure multiple times. Is there any expectation that additional poses will be released that will allow us to create a battlefield diorama where the figures are not repetitive?

Without counting, I would say the different poses by any manufacturer doing AWI or Naps is at most 30 so far for a few regiments, but most top out at 20 for any given regiment.

Wow! Another big hit for collectors (and my wallet:eek:) The Panther and Raupenschlepper are must haves and dare I say, the price is a pleasant surprise!
The Spit is pretty nice too...;)
