Dispatches is up!! (3 Viewers)

Andy did say I would see some "Normandy Germans" in August, but I didn't expect this many - thanks Andy :)

Btw, I am happy to see more German SS in their late war "fancy pants" camo trousers return to the K & C ranks as I much prefer them to the earlier grey pant style. But then there are apparently some collectors that like grey stuff :)

Spitfires,Ambulances,Panthers,Normandy Pak's,Normandy Schlepper looks really good,RAF Figures,wow what a set of releases!!:eek::cool::cool::cool:

Andy has been a busy boy!:D:cool:
Dpes anyone know if those Germans will go with an Arnhem setting?:D

On the king and country uk website it says RAF24 - RAF Policeman, and RAF25 - Armourer, where are these figures on the HK Website?

I just pre-ordered the entire new RAF release. I am glad my airfield diorama is 12 feet by 6 feet, because with all these new airwar releases its going to get crowded . . .:D

I'm sure they will be up soon.Perhaps they will be with the other RAF vehicle that Andy has said will be released in Sept.

Reason King & Country is still King. Nice releases, great variety, something to pick from no matter what you collect.

Any pics Louis?:D

I pre-ordered them, how can I have pictures yet? Look at the dispatches on the website and there are photos of the new RAF releases.

If you mean are there any pictures of my airfield diorama, there are tons of them on the treefrog forum. There are a bunch of recent ones on the Heco Tinplate Models thread under more glossy manufacturers (I have a small section at the back of the diorama with Heco aircraft & related items). Look at page 21 of the thread, post 207 and further on and you should see a bunch.

Hi Rob

See you got your Spit :) and must be looking forward to adding it to your flight line. Do you think there will be a second bird with a different livery ? .. perhaps for an English ace

As an AWI collector, I am totally delighted with the new 23rd Foot ,, which I suspect must only half the Regiment :D They can't be complete without the Regimental colors .. drummers and more in the firing line  Okay, okay, well maybe later.

Secondly .. I am actually relieved to see the old Fusiliers retired. Must have been a K&C record .. for longest in production ? ;)

Best regards
OD

Hey OD,

Hope all is good with you mate.

I am a very happy collecting bunny indeed my friend, last year I got loads of D Day and Battle of Britain releases and now we have the piece de resistance!.Love that ambulance too.

Of course I have no inside info on this;) but I wouldn't be surprised if Andy released another Spit either with a different pilot/numbering,or maybe even in D Day markings, either way I'll have to enlarge my airfield!

Cheers

Rob

Hey Mitch,

I agree. And its not just about the aircraft either.I'm sure there are many people whose favourite aircraft is the ME109 or the FW 190 or the P51,but the Spit goes beyond aircraft popularity because for us it is a national icon(recently voted as such)because it stood for the spirit and determination of British defiance in those dark days of WW2.If an aircraft can indeed be beautiful, then with its sleek lines and wings the Spitfire truly is.

I guess the only downside to the Spit is that it did take a lot of Glory from the Hurricane, however between them they did the business and persuaded Hitler to go elsewhere.

Rob

I agree with you there Rob. As an American in my youth I grew up thinking the Spitfire was the best fighter in WWII. It wasn't until years later did I realize the importance of the hurricane in the Battle of Britain.

However, today I think the P51 powered by those Rolls-Royce Merlin engines were the best fighters. Undoubtedly though, the spitfire maybe had the most impact due to their many successes and service length through compared to the P51. Cheers to a magnificent plane ... the spitfire.

Wow one of the best dispatches to date. Love the panther and pak. Chicago is gonna be very expensive this year.

Go on a payment plan, buy now and buy more in Chicago, LOL, just kidding. See you in Chicago.

Well said Carlos,it was all about aircraft evolution wasn't it.

First the Spit was better than the ME109,then the FW190 was better than the early Spits, then the Spit improved, then the P51 was better than all of them and finally the later Spits were awesome. They all had their moment in the sun.Whether it was the Spit protecting this country or the P51 protecting allied bombers they all did their thing.

Will you be getting the Spit Carlos,I reckon these will fly off the shelves,if you'll pardon the pun!

Don't know yet Rob, I'll make my decision in Chicago or when I see them at King-X in San Antonio when I see them. I do have a FOV version but I suspect I'll like the KC's color paint scheme better.

I'll likely pass on the Panther because I have the Honour Bound Panthers (5 of them) and pass on the PAK gun and team because I have a similar set from Thomas Gunn. However, I'm very likely to pick up the new KC "Summer Raupenschlepper" and pick up all of those KC D-Day British sets released some months ago. I already have the Cromwell tank and it’s cool. After all I have to get more Brits to go with my "Bailey Bridge" I acquired at the West Coaster Show from Old Toy Soldiers of San Diego. BTW, I believe they still a few more of those bridges left and they're terrific.

We leave in an age of so many wonderful choices.

Carlos

Nice purchase on the Bailey bridge Carlos, excellent release. We do indeed enjoy a huge choice these days.Hope you have a great Chicago this year:)

I know it was just a movie, but I loved the scene in the film "The Battle of Britain" when Goering asked the German officer what he needed to be victorious and the officer responded "Give me Spitfires"....lol

:D Absolutely!. My other favourite scene is the one in which a Spitfire attacks a German bomber,is damaged and you see it fly off,and then in the distance you see it turn and come roaring back in with its guns blazing,I'm normally out of my seat at this point yelling 'Get in there' !!:D;)

Rob

Truly, one of the best WWII movies ever made.
mike

Yes it was.. Pretty accurate and ahead of its time because many WWII movies during that made in that era were unrealistic!

I thought the Winter version of the Schlepper was very nice, but with the summer version K&C have advanced it again, the removable roof and stowage load make this a good vehicle for dio scenes and duplication,I like the fact K&C are giving us lots of stowage/fuel options these days.
