Chris...

There has indeed been calls in many of the recent posts for the range to be ended in various forms from outright to cries to Andy that its spoiling his standing. I don't really read into peoples posts I comment on what is said. Sometimes though, subtle innuendo is glaring (stupid people with no morals) but, in this case its a theme that has been said and, my comments about that and censorship and, the type of person who produces or buys this stuff is a response to it.

Rob has a similar feeling in relation to being able to express like for a product without unecessary digs.[Ig i]
It would be as nice to discuss the asthetic value of the releases without the constant need for people to remind us of the sufferinn WWI
I. It would be taxing, would it not, should every time you discuss or mention[/I] modern war sets, to be harranged by anti war protests and telling you what a bunch of civillian murderers the allied troops are in Iraq/afghanistan and that it was offensive to civillians in these countries the sets are released placing pictures associated with some of the acts and generally trying to impose their morality onto your interests.

I know you have to take the rough with the smooth but, its very clear who and why they may dislike these sets but, they IMO cross the line when they try to impose their values views onto those many people who buy or, spoil threads etc etc.

I know many collectors (who have contacted me) etc who have large collections and would like to post them (as they have spent thousands and thousands) but, are fearful of being labelled or attacked by some on here.

If everyone did that as is done against the LAH then the forum would descend into turmoil. I have never seen such pics or animosity derived against Waffen SS sets for Totenkopf (camp guards, plenty of atrocities) LAH (Malmedy wormhoudt plenty of atrocities) Das Reich (oradour plenty of atrocities)

I suppose though it may be getting better as nobody moaned about the panzerfaust guy with his SA uniform on!!!!

There's no doubting that these figures are attractive, well painted and appealing to the eye. I can fully understand how anyone who likes the marching and parading side of things would like these. The motorbike and staff cars look really good too.

I really didn't want to get back into this again but let me be clear: I don't like these figures although I'll concede that they're well done. I just wish that K & C or any other company for that matter didn't make them. That is hardly banning. To ban something means someone in a position of authority prohibiting or barring a particular thing. Nobody wants that and I certainly don't.

I would just prefer that K & C didn't make them. That is a preference, not a ban.

In the interest of everyone enjoying this thread for the purposes it was started by Rob if the moderators could make this discussion a separate thread.

One more point, even though I don't like this line, I do enjoy seeing people's photos so anyone who wishes to show photos of their collection should certainly do so. I think Wayne's photos look great and a friend of mine, Hans Hedrich, has a great looking collection of LAH. I even told Andy when I saw his room in 2009 that the display looked great (even though he knows that I'm not wild about the line).

If some of my prior remarks about the SA irriritated or got some collectors annoyed or angry, my apologies.

That would be a good idea Brad. I don't think this thread has been drifted by anything other than general chat which is always good to read, however we are now talking about almost nothing else than LAH and it would be nice to get back to dispatches....as its a full 22 days until the next!^&grin:wink2:

Brad, we all get annoyed by something on here now and again, the great thing about this place is that even when things get heated it always calms down with communication and dialogue. I loathe the Nazi's and what they stood for and have lost my temper many times I'm afraid, but I always regret it and have apologized many times, I have always found folk open minded and accepting when they know you really mean it. I can honestly say that apart from perhaps one, I've always been able to talk things through and make things good again.^&cool^&cool

Wayne, very nice pics, thats quite a collection you have there, most impressive.^&cool

Those two guys saluting on the balcony, I don't think they are saluting. I think the one on the right is actually pointing and saying ' I tell you its not one of ours, its that ^&*%$* Spitfire again'!! :wink2:

I don't believe it should be moved to a seperate place as LAH figures were released in the most recent dispatches so, that just tends to move this discussion away from the top thread and first manufacturer post K&C and, as these are his figures, this is the place to post.

its semantics really IMO you don't want them, you would rather see them not made, and you are somwhat dissapointed that they are made, by what could be said one of, if not, your favourite manufacturer. They are a very big part of this hobby and will probably continue to be so for the foreseeable future.

It does not annoy me comments as its very understandable why the dislike its how its then transferred to the buyer or individual maker thats the issue or one of them.

Wayne...

Superb pictures great collection.

Brett..

Its all this ability to converse rather civilly we must have impressed the authorities that we won't argue all the time lol.
Mitch

Well I suppose LAH collectors have to accept that others have the right to find their Nazi fetish creepy and distasteful.

You see. Now if this were a court of law I would be standing and shouting ''objection'' argumentative and unecessary. The fetish part is a dig and a rather poor attempt at trying to belittle those who collect and, IMO, rather unworthy.

Morally lacking, not sensible, now a fetish its not hard to see how those who object have not had any influence in getting their way with such ranges as their arguments lack any substance than personal attack.

I recieve an infraction for asking for peace to enjoy a range and others can get away with digs like this. Its rather one sided and saddening IMO
Mitch

People are free to collect what they want and others are free to think what they want about it. That about sums it up Milud.

''Think'' is exactly the word and, one should really have the maturity and respect for anothers collecting habits and, not through in the unecessary personal attacks about fetish, morality, or intelligence. Its fine to discuss the merits et al of the range and its qualities but, I thought, against the rules of the forum to make personal and unsubstantiated comments about an individual or groups.
