Elephant Battery (1 Viewer)

I would have to agree with Pat......these types of threads are great.

I may need to pick your brains about an RHA I am considering painting myself.

Pick away!..... What make of figures are you thinking about?

Jeff

I was thinking of the Steadfast one as they also have an officer and a bugler to go with. They also seem to be more in the Britains style. I also like that the set is at the walk. Better for my ceremonial display.

I was just looking back at your RHA thread and I am wondering if it may be a bit ambitious for me ???

I've seen that one, nice model. FM make additional figures of Officer, Trumpeter and Troopers as outriders as well.

As for a bit ambitious, just treat them as a unit of cavalry with a bit more in the way of harness to paint. Simon (Wraith) is painting a Gatling Gun made by Steadfast and this was supplied assembled so it may the same for the RHA gun and limber? Give it a go, if you make a mistake painting just touch it up afterwards, thats what I do.

Scott,

All being well, I'll be going to RP World on Sunday, so I'll enquire about the set(s) and see if I can get some snap shots.

And as Jeff says, the worst that can happen, is that some bit needs repainting.

Thanks Simon, that would be great if you could get some better photos. The sets you have bought look very nice so I imagine these would follow suit.

Scott

I didn’t want to paint the gun and limber in just grey – it would be too much what with the elephant being that colour, so I added a bit of blue to the dark grey.

Hitched up and nowhere to go…….once completely dry the harness chains will be added to show the completed set-up.

Thanks Simon, I’m quite pleased with the way it turned out and the time it took, just got to fit the chains and linking rings.
I needed to finish this one in a reasonable timescale so I can move on to the other projects.

Jeff

Yes, I think it's tremendous. Would love to see a photo of the finished set all together. Did you find a good home for it yet?

Brad,

Will be posting a photo after I have attached the harness chains, probably tomorrow night or Wednesday morning as I’m away on business tomorrow.

No offers yet, but then I haven’t advertised it as such.

Jeff

This is the completed set-up with the eye rings and chain harness added, a bit fiddly putting together as the rings have to be opened and then linked to the chain and then closed up again, but nothing a small pair of long nosed pliers can’t sort out.

I’m pleased with the way this has turned out………all it needs now is a home.

Thanks for looking.

Jeff

Your painting is unbelievable. I think your versions are superior to the originals. It is a delight to watch your projects. Your customers are blessed:)
