Expeditionary Force WW2 sets??? (3 Viewers)

I have pre ordered 10 sets with a stipulation. These sets must be compatable with Conte & TSSD figures. I thought I read somewhere that they were but has anyone actually seen a photo comparison? My concern is the very first Expeditionary figures were Civil War and they were so small they almost needed to stand alone, that they would go with no other companies. 10 sets come to over $300 so when talking that amount for plastic I need to be sure.
One other question. I know that you must order each bag with a particular headgear. I,ve mixed my order up. But once they arrive can you then switch heads?
Even tho as previously discussed that these are not the most innovative poses it's been a long time since this many new figures have come out at one time.
Even tho Plastic General got his math messed up, I really don't think complaining about a few dollars and I mean a few is warranted. If a TSSD bag sells for $26 and these go for $32 a difference of $6. If that causes financial hardship maybe another hobby should be look at.
Gary

You are absolutely right; but TSSD figures sell between 12 and 16 figures for that $26 and with X-Force one is getting 9.

My concern is what happens to the hobby when the price of our beautiful little pieces of plastic escalates to the point folks decide to waste their hard-earned dollars on frivolous things such as rent, food, and clothing rather than buy toy soldiers? If too many folks decide the cost of toy soldiers is a financial hardship even the guys who have megabucks to spend on them will be up that creek without a paddle because they alone will not be able to provide enough demand to keep the producers afloat.

I agree that there is a certain price point for retail plastics that would cause me to also not purchase them. Since I buy converted plastic figures and a lot of them I don't have a problem with $3.50 or so a figure. Conversions run between $6 & $10 per figure. What I'm saying is I don't think we are at the "do not buy" point yet. Further that it's well worth it to me to pay a few extra dollars to keep the plastic sets coming.
Gary

One annoyance for a converter is that you only get ONE of each pose in the set. It doesn't cost THAT much more to add the extra figures once you have the packaging and other overhead covered. I'll still buy them, but it will raise costs to those that I convert for. I used to be able to get a set and have a pose for myself and an extra to convert, now the ante has been raised.

Perfect example, at least for me, of plastic to expensive. TSSD has those Engineer Basich sets. $49 per set, 12 figures. Now when you add their shipping, about $12, that's to much. EB has excellent figures and when I attend OTSN this year I'll probablly pick up the set because of no shipping. But over $60 a set that's where I draw the line. It's not so much the $60, it's more the principle.

Check with expeditionary force direct. Scott has the bundling of 6 sets of Germans and 6 sets of Americans for around $158 each. That price includes shipping which 5 day delivery. Only issue is that is the Germans with the steel helmets and Americans with the web helmets.

The Plastic General is IN 1000%.
Big deal, its only $150 for everything! What would you rather be doing with that money?

At the time, I only saw 5 sets!
But now I see that there are 10 sets, so YA!
$300 - $350 all in, is still worth it to me!
What in the hell else am I going to do with that money? Go out for dinner 3 times?? Go to a strip club??
A release this big is rare! Support it and enjoy it!

EB has me raising my eyebrows, too - and as much as I wish anyone willing to take a chance and make figures well, I can't help but think to myself he might be a trailblazer as far as price goes. And I see the creep in prices - I know with the costs involved some is inevitable - I find myself walking away from more and more nice sets that I'd love to add to my collection.

But with the storage problems I am having with my collection of over 50 years, I can't justify handing out money at those prices. I might be able to afford it, but call me cheap, I just can't see it for plastic figures. One of the reasons I never got in to metals was the price (and I grew up playing with plastic...). I can see where those who convert and sell have no problem and I don't know that x-Force is too out of bounds, but I remember when their "Mini" ACW set came out they were, what? $16 US? Now a set is $29 and not too much time has passed. Admittedly, these figures are supposed to be a more suitable scale but that's an awful big jump in a short time.

Again, I don't know I won't buy some of these figures. The Army deal is a bit more attractive. I never could justify buying the Army deal on the Persians in spite of the fact I "need" them to oppose my humongous Army of Conte Spartans in all three colors (that are falling apart in spite of my best efforts to store them safe and secure). However, I do think a comment here and there on price escalation is warranted to remind our producer friends that our pockets are not bottomless. I would hate to see any of the producers over-reach and lose their shirts on a deal - we lose their contributions to the hobby. And we've seen that in our time with others who are no longer in the business.

I just went to their web site and don't see that deal, can you give me further help?
Gary

An email Scott sent me. He said the website will reflect this in a few short days. Or go to the expeditionary website and select contact and ask and he is great at responding.

I expect to buy the mg and mortar sets for both.
The infantry do not interest, since
I have more than enough with TSSD, Conte, CTS and
many many conversions.

If you keep things in perspective its not allot of money, we all blow money on stupid, boring stuff all the time and think nothing of it!
your average smoker spends way more on cigarettes a month then we on our beloved hobby.
do not to mention wasting money at the?
How many times have I blown good cash in a bar or nightclub on wine women and song and had nothing to show for it besides a hangover!
Or the time you took your in-laws out for dinner and dropped $150 and thought to yourself, "****" I could have bought all 5 sets of EX FORCE GERMANS!
You can have your cake and eat it too.
Besides, we want to encourage them to continue making MORE!

Buying something that I do not like will
encourage the maker to produce more of the same.

The figure torsos need more animation and
variations.

Has anyone seen these in person? I need to know if they are TSSD & Conte compatable.
Gary

Gary, I'm sure your dreams will come true.
(every release in the world will now be 1/28 scale)

Left to right: Austin, XForce, Austin, XForce, TSSD, XForce.

Thx,

Jim
