Falklands revisited (1 Viewer)

Thanks guys, all packed and ready to go. Estimate 20 car loads and 6-8 travel times a day, so 3 days. Setting back up is a little daunting, but bit by bit, no more tv at night. Two shelves are dedicated to the Falklands, still one of my favourite series. Going to miss my man cave which was built in 2014, but as they say, all good things must come to an end. Also 36 years in the house, with views and daily visits of kangaroos on our lawn and colourful birds drinking from the bird bath. Such is life. Won’t miss the foxes, Brown snakes and Red back spiders 🤔. Robin.
Good luck on the move Robin 👍. I hope you won't have any lodgers in your collection 😉 🤣🤣🤣. Paul

Best of luck on the move Robin! I’ve moved my collection twice, both times when it was smaller than it is now, and it its largest it’s no where near as big as yours, and it was anything but easy so I wish you all the luck in the world!

Well at least I not going via the Falklands, that said, if I was offered a trip there, I would be interested 😀. The new house is 12 minutes away by car, so no great impediment, just many trips. The Removalist is only taking 9 bookcases from my man cave and the rest I decided, I wanted to do. I will let you know when it’s done for interest sake. Appreciate everyone’s support. Robin.

A Scimitar negotiates a path through the rocky terrain, heading for Wireless Ridge and on to Stanley. Robin.

Terrain becoming tougher for this little armoured vehicle, which moves doggedly forward to support 2 Para. Robin.
Great displays Robin. I recently placed an order to get caught up on this series. Can you recommend any good books to read on this war for a novice? I've watched several documentaries but would appreciate some book recommendations.

Brendan

Great to have you on board Brendan. This series is right up there with my favourites. When Andy announced this new endeavour in December 2020, I also knew nothing about this war. After many YouTube videos, probably a dozen and the books/Magazines shown here and going back over the material in the last 5 years constantly, I have a pretty good handle on the conflict. Andy may do some SAS figures, which I can then do a strike diorama on Pebble Island, the first land engagement in the Falkland campaign. Have a good time at the London show. Keep in touch. Robin.

Thanks Robin. I'll have to grab those Osprey books. The London show was great. I saw some of the Falklands pueced there. They look great in person!

Robin:

Your Falkland dio/pics are just incredible.

They tell the history of that conflict perfectly via Andy’s figures etc.
