Here is a quick shot of Figarti's new fuel truck. We do work for many companies, this is among the finest pieces we have ever seen. The only complaint we have, is the Truck and Figures are smaller than the V2 Command vehicle and figures. As you will see when we complete the rest of the shots. Alex

It's still a well made vehicle even if it is a little smaller. It's one of Figarti's best IMO. It reminds me of a very detailed 1/35 model.

Nick when you say 1/35th tell me your not talking scale wise?

Disappointing is an understatement. Its bad enough when a company changes the scale of their figures, but when they can't maintain the scale of the figures and vehicles in the same series this is unacceptable. They had this same issue with the Panzer IV. Great tank and figures, but all of the DAK sets that are suppose to go with it are all undersized ! Why is it so hard to maintain the same scale from set to set ? Will someone please enlighten me ! I had planned to do a dio with the V2 and the other figure sets in this series. If the size of this set is an issue those plans are out the window. I've been burned by this company too many times now, I'm done :(

Me to I suppose ...

Alex:

Can you sit the Figarti Opel Blitz Fuel Tanker with the KC Opel Blitz? Just want to be sure it's closer to the KC Opel Blitz scale as I plan to create a diorama putting these vehicles side by side.

Thanks

I have and have photographed set twice in two different past shows (OSTN & West Coaster) and have post them on the Forum.

IT’S NOT 1/35! Let me say it again; IT’S NOT 1/35!

Here’s another truth:

IT’S NOT 1/32! Let me say it again; IT’S NOT 1/32!

What scale is it?

IT’S 1/30!

My Apologies, it's late at night and I'm about to go to bed and sometimes I over react but I’m probably the only one on this Forum that does.

Nick, is right it is beautiful.

BTW, I thought that “command vehicle” was based on a Sd.Kfz.7 chassis? If so, that vehicle is certainly larger than this German fuel truck which is based on an Opel Blitz truck chassis, right?

If so, than maybe the scale is correct anyway, you think?

Carlos

Thanks for the clarification Carlos, I was getting worried, the fuel track is back on my must get list.

But hey guys, wasn't Carlos a bit catty, you don't see me over reacting on this forum - much ;)

I guess the true test is placing it side by side with the KC Opel Blitz Truck (assuming that the KC has the correct scale). Alex (Firebat) can you help resolve this issue (if you have both models at hand, that is)?

I think if you read Nick's original post, he indicated the figures were a little smaller than the figures with the original V2 set, not that the truck's scale was off.

I saw the prototype of the truck at the Chicago Show, and (1) Nick and Carlos are correct that it so nice it is a must have (I already pre-ordered mine from Clive at Grey Goose) and (2) the scale is just perfect. I actually had an issue with Rick about the scale of the M3 Grant Tanks and the Truck, and we actually set them down right next to the K&C Sherman and Opel Blitz Truck at the Hobby Bunker display, and they were perfect 1:30 scale, matched the new K&C 1:30 stuff perfectly.

It sure is disappointing as I was getting this set, I will now wait and see some comparison pics.

I will try to clarify everything, I have the 21st Century trucks, the K&C and the Figarti. What I can tell you right now is the figures are ABSOLUTELY smaller, no doubt about it. And when I put the Command Vehicle figures next to the fuel truck, they look like the could not fit in the cab in real life. I have the scene at my house, and I am currently a my new wifes house, so I cant do anything right now. Figarti makes our favorite stuff, but I really do think this is out of scale from the Command Vehicle. I have a very busy week ahead and will do the best I can to do some comparison shots. I think it is going to fit well with the 21st Century trucks, and I will use it as a tank refueling vehicle. It should not be missed, it is a well detailed unique piece. Alex

Thanks Alex, I look forward to seeing some comparo pics, but I recall seeing movies of V2 rockets being fueled and launched, and from memory the truck wasn't very high and the command halftrack was rather big.

I hope you guys are right, but I am usually a stickler, when it comes to scale, and I am a bit worried. I think the figures actually tell the story. The ones with the Command Vehicle are quite a bit larger. When we were working on the scene, we took great pains to keep the vehicles and figures away from each other, it made that much of an impact on us. Alex
