FIGARTI / BSP / Fuel Truck (1 Viewer)

I hope you guys are right, but I am usually a stickler, when it comes to scale, and I am a bit worried. I think the figures actually tell the story the ones with the Command Vehicle are quite a bit larger. Alex

I haven't got the Command Vehicle yet but I suspect the standing figure is a bit over-sized like the figures in the two sets containing officers etc supposedly looking up at a V2. Those standing pointing officers tower over my K & C Inspection Set guys.

I don't know what this proves, but the figures included with the fuel truck are shown here with a 1/32nd Tiger Tank Crew member. The Command Vehicle figures are WAY bigger. The Command Vehicle figure towers over the cab of the truck. I am anxious to get those comparison shots to you, but my new wife is getting surgery tomorrow, and it is going to be a tough week, but I will do my best to sneak a pic in. Alex

Alex, sorry to hear about your wife, I hope everything turns out ok.

From actual photos I have seen an average size human comes to about level with the hood of that halftrack but less than the height of the cab roof of the Opel truck. Btw, with the standing Command Vehicle figure, is he glued to that stool he's standing on?

Guys,
Here's a couple of photos to help with comparisons.
Apologies for the quality, I took them quickly.
The first shows that the figures for the refuelling truck and the Command vehicle are the same scale... height, build etc.
Also that the Command vehicle is built on a large Sdkfz chassis so would be have been towering over the Opel.

The second photo shows a comparison to the KandC Opel truck.
The wheelbase is the same length but the fuel bowser is approx 1cm shorter
which is probably correct given the extra weight.
To my mind no issue on scale either between the Figarti sets or in comparison to the KandC vehicle.

Hope this helps.
Regards
Clive

You do have me doubting myself, and I can't wait to get to my house, where the scene is, to take another look. Your pics make the figures look similar in size. Nick and I were talking last night, and we do have a lot experience with scale, but in putting our V2 scene together, we both simultaneously said to each other, wow we have to keep these figures away from each other, due to the vast difference in size. Also note the Fuel Crew figure is on a base which gives him height. Also note in our pic the Fuel Crew figure was very similar in size to the 1/32 Tiger Crew figure. Well this is a good discussion and we will get to the bottom of it. We hoped the difference in vehicles was due to the actual real life size difference. Something just didn't feel right to us.

But the bottom line is......The Fuel Truck is magnificent, and in my opinion, no one does vehicles better than Figarti. Dragon did a Fuel Truck in 1/72nd, and they just call it a Fuel Truck. I am actually more excited to put it in a tank refueling scene. Alex

Hi Alex,
I'm sure you've got a lot more experience than me on the scale issues so if it didn't look right there's something afoot.
I know for instance the Inspection sets look very bulky by comparison. (maybe the Generals were very well fed!!)
I've looked again at the figures and the officer climbing aboard the Command vehicle is on tiptoe which in height kinda equates to the plinth which the refuelling guy is on so any difference is marginal.

I particularly like the idea of using it as a tank refuelling dio.
I guess it could be used as an airfield refueler also...no point in limiting its application.

Clive

The V-2 fueling Truck scale looks good to me, and this model would be ideal in a display with the K & C Komet as it used the same T-stoff fuel, as did the V-1 launching ramp.

The side by side with the K&C opel have quieted my doubts, I'll definately pick it up.

Solid decision Ray! I trust my eyes and after examining it like a Falcon at the West Coaster, she looked spot on! Enjoy.

OK here we go see what you think

From left to right the first 3 figures look the same scale, but the one furthest to the right looks too small.

The cab of the K&C truck is slightly taller, but the rest of the truck's dimensions look about the same to me.

That is quite the size difference. That last figures should be adding sugar to a chocolate river I am sure :D :D :D

The Wifes surgery went well, so I took the opportunity to do accurate pics for the Troops

The third figure from Left-To-Right is without a doubt oversized but the width of his respective base should be noted as well.

Well here is my assessment - The Inspection and Adjusting The Launch Pad Figures are the BIGGEST 1/30th Figures I have ever seen. The One Fuel Truck Guy is very Small, the other two are normal. The Fuel Truck I am going to call a small 1/30th and a big 1/32, which actually makes it very versatile. Nick and I are from that 1/35th Scale model school, and can get crazy with detail and scale. But I hope we gave you the info you need to make your purchasing decisions. That is what Battle Scene Productions is here for. Alex
