Figarti JS2 and Tank Riders (2 Viewers)

Terry dothe markings usually appear over winter camo any info is much appreciated
Regards Scott

Here is a photo of a JS-2 in Berlin in Spring 1945. It did have white camo paint which has partly flaked off. The turret has been cleared of white paint so the air recognition markings can be seen from the air. The tank is from the 88th Independent Guards Heavy Tank Regiment of the 13th Army 1st Ukranian Front.

The Figarti JS-2 number 432 is the 2nd tank, 3rd Company, 104th Regiment, of the 7th Independent Guards Heavy Tank Brigade, 8th Guards Army, 1st Belorussian Front. The 7th was known as the White Bears.

The Heavy Tank Brigade in 1945 consisted of 3 Heavy Tank Regiments, a motorized sub-machine gun Battalion, administration and supply units. It's full strength was 1,666 men, 65 JS-2 tanks, 3 SU-76 SPGs, 19 APCs and 3 armoured cars.

An Independent Heavy Tank Regiment at full strength comprised 21 tanks and 375 men. It was organized into 4 Companies of 5 JS-2 tanks plus a Commander's tank, a sub-machine gun company (tank riders), an anti-aircraft battery, and sapper, medical and signal platoons.

and having a JS2 in your collection gives you a reason to drill some holes in your favorite Panther! :D

Now what drill bit do I use for a 122mm hole at 1/30:rolleyes:

That pic of the JS2 column near the K-Dam store nicely illustrates what Combat was talking about. See all those low hanging wires? They must have been quite a problem as they started coming down.

Divide 122 by 30! :p

If it works like that, the hole would be 4 mm. Take a look at 4mm on a ruler. That's a big hole in a 1:30 model

I could not wait any longer.I have ordered this tank and riders as I have been told time and time again that K&C won't do Russian armour. So my First venture into Figarti toy soldiers has begun. It looks like a little beauty to me.Simmo.

You wont regret it Simmo, may be if more of us Aussies bought Figarti brett might get them in his shop????????......

Now that's a good idea.A bigger shop means more toy soldier dealers he could fit out in it.I am going to see him over the next couple of days so I shall ask him.Simmo.

It is an exceptional piece of armor. The tank riders are also quite good. In my opinion it is one of the nicest pieces of armor produced in the hobby.
