Louis,

Brad,

I just sent you 5 photos of the Figarti LCT/Build-A-Rama Beach Matt Diorama, 4 Shots of the Glossy K&C Fort Diorama, 3 shots of the Figarti JS2 & Tank Riders, a shot of Flying Tiger Lenny Glick's Flight Jacket patch and Squadron Pin, a shot of all the glossy K&C bands marching on a parade ground, a shot of a Heco Gunbus Pusher Plane I recently obtained, and a shot of a shelf diorama I made with Figarti buildings, figures and vehicles, and Build-A-Rama cobblestone matts and rubble.

Here are some photos of Louis' JS 2 :)

My pleasure Louis. Looked like the JS2 came out nicely. I like the way the jacket of the officer kind of flaps in the breeze.

JS2 looks great but is it my eyes are the figures in scale with the JS2 ? looking at real photos a JS2 was massive in size a could carry quite a number of troops on its deck, cant see that here, the tank commander looks like a giant in his cupola.

The figures look about the right size. The commander in Louis' photo looks high because he is sitting on top of the cupola hatch ring. There are lots of photos in this thread showing person size vs the tank.

And the JS-2 was not a massive tank compared to the German tanks. It was smaller than a Panther tank but with thicker armour and a bigger gun. It was really a medium tank with a big gun with interior space for only a crew of 4 and 28 main gun rounds. The German tanks had crews of 5 and could carry roughly 75 - 90 main gun rounds.

The JS-2 was only 46 ton vs 45 t for the panther 57 t for the Tiger and 69 t for the King Tiger. The hull of the JS-2 was longer at 21' 11 ". vs the Tiger at 20" 8" and King Tiger at 21' but shorter than the Panther at 22' 6".
It was also narrower at 10' 2" vs Panther 10' 9", Tiger 11' 8' and King Tiger 12' 4" and much shorter at 9' vs Panther 9' 10", Tiger 9' 10" and King Tiger 10' 2".

Working on the figures Terry's provided, the JS2 comes in at approx 1/29.6, so as near as d@mn it 1/30. The commander is a half figure, but best guess using the 'jumper' rider, the figures work out at approx 60 - 61mm (heel of foot to estimated top of head), so the maths seem to add up OK.

I hope nobody takes this as another 'scale war' starter.

This is typical of most manufacturers of AFVs as has been discussed before, becoming standardized about the K&C sizes with the actual AFVs at 1:30 and the figures a slight bit oversize.

They look ok from the photos, but are probably typical of the "K&C standard" which would make them slightly oversized, but not by much. I don't have my model yet to see in person, but this concept agrees with what Wraith just posted.

Sorry Simon you drew first blood so this means war!

I'm bummed out after reading about paint flaking off other Figarti items. I was just about to order one of these gorgeous pieces and then stopped. I can't justify $189 on a piece that will require touching up in two years.
Seriously, I'm looking for an excuse to purchase this piece--but I don't trust Figarti's quality control after reading about the Long Tom.

Don't want to be a downer. I'm just disappointed.

I've had no problems with the 10 AFVs I have. Think hard cause when they are gone...and the rest of the EFx stuff comes along you might want one of these even more.
