Figarti London pics (1 Viewer)

Guys,
Here's the photos of the Churchill AVRE which we showed in london.
Please note this is a prototype and there are likely to be some minor amendments but you get the picture of what a beaut she will be.

Hi Brad,
The prototype was just being finished at the end of last week hence photos vs the real thing.
I guess another 4 weeks or so then of course the shipping so end July early August should be about right.
Although I'll have some airmailed as usual.

Churchill AVRE main armament:

Petard 290mm Mortar for demolition work.

The demolition charge was called the "Flying Dustbin".

ie: the dumbell shaped structure to the right in the photograph.

Raymond.

From the Churchill database, T68141 is the actual serial number of an AVRE Churchill, but no details on tank name or unit in the database.

I think she's from the 26th Assault squadron,5th Assault regt,79th Armd div Juno Beach on D Day.

If so, then the 5th Assault Regiment was part of the 1st Assault Brigade Royal Engineers of the 79th armoured division. The 1st Assault Brigade were equipped with ARVEs and went in with the Canadians. This makes this Churchill a must buy for me.

Did it have the insignia of the 79th on it?

Can't remember if she had insignia or not

Oh my....Figarti just keeps rolling out beauties! This one is simply stunning. I hope the figure(s) that come with the Churchill are sculpted by the same individual who contributed his/her impressive talents to the figures that accompanied the Russian Beast and its adjacent releases. In any case, consider one of these sold. Now if Figarti can only find buyers for the other 99 pcs. :p. Fantastic work to the entire Figarti team. Congrats due all around yet again!:)

It looks as if it has the fittings for the CIRD (Canadian Indestructible Roller Device) on the sides near the front.

So far is the key... Figarti raises the bar with each new release. My Red Ball Express set is fantastic!
