Figarti Long Tom: Paint Flaking (1 Viewer)

I haven't suffered the flaking issues but the Winter Panzer IV I received had the cupola hatch broken off and had glue affixing the packing foam to it - a tad obvious, eh? The dealer bent over backwards to help me and repeatedly told me Figarti was sending a new hatch - it never happened. Eventually, the dealer asked me if they wanted me to keep trying and I told them to forget it - Figarti obviously wasn't concerned.

I won't boycot them yet but I have little faith in their ability to deliver a quality product consistently. If I receive another damaged item I'll find other suppliers. I am willing to spend top dollar but I won't pay it for something that is a consistent failure.

Can you tell I am still irritated with the Panzer IV experience? ;)

Yes, 10 percent. MY point being.. More than enough for a disgruntled employee . to mess with production. Because if its the primer/ paint. it would show in the whole lot. not just 7, 8 , 9.
And I agree, the dealers should not shoulder, the burden of the problems. Figarti, should make amends.
And there are a lot of Other Manufacturer's Out there. just a matter of limiting what is out there By one manufacturer. And waiting for the other ones To Listen/ make What you need/ want.
And you have never have to deal with Figarti ever again. So there will be no more Complaints about Future Figarti releases in your Threads, You will never have to deal with them. ever again. Not unless..... . But then You already Know that there might be a problem. So......
And for the rest of us, We have enjoyed , An m-16 Quad, A Firefly, A Hedgerow Cutter, A Ground Stuka, A Priest. One or Two 88's. The halftrack. Most if Not all we asked For from a Manufacturer.

I have sent a private message to Rick at Figarti and I am awaiting his response regarding the paint comming off the Long Tom which I purchased and how this will be resolved.....I assume that he will contact me by private message...But as yet I have not heard from him.....I hope to hear from him sometime this week......I trust that Figarti will DO RIGHT by their customers.....I have invested qiute a few dollars in Figarti as have most of you....Let's see what can be done.

Rick is usually slow to respond to PM's, you will get a faster response if you send him an e-mail. Rick has always stood behind Figarti's products. I am sure that he will want to effectuate repairs on the effected items (mine included).

However, just to be fair, I feel it is important to point out that I own enough Figarti items to fill a small room, and the only production defect I have ever had was with the Long Tom (unless you count my displeasure with the decals used on the Firefly, which is more asthetics than a production defect).

I've also only had two Figarti products arrive damaged in transit. That is really not a bad record quality control wise. There is room for improvement, and I certainly agree that at these prices, no product should leave the factory with a manufacturing defect. As has been suggested, having one trusted employee inspect every item both before and after it is packaged would all but eliminate the issue.

I was going to add but Louis essentially beat me to it that the issue has been extensively and sometimes passionately described and discussed and that Rick said he would address the problem. As that is what members want I'm not sure how much more there is to gain by further discussing the issue.

I must say that I am very lucky in having such a good supplier in Clive from Grey Goose. Not once have I had an item arrived with any sort of damage, can't recommend him highly enough:cool:

I couldn't agree more about Clive. He is absolutely a stand up guy (the biggest compliment you can give someone in the neighborhood where I grew up). Over the years, I have had the same kind of terrific relationship with the Nevilles of K&C UK as well. Even with the killer exchange rate, I have continued to deal with both Clive and the Nevilles, because they are such terrific people.

Yes indeed Louis.I must say its a pleasure dealing with both the Nevilles and Clive, having people like that in the hobby makes it even more enjoyable.

A follow up note to my earlier comment is required - Rick just PMd me and is helping me pursue a resolution to my issue with my Panzer IV.

I have dealt with many manufacturers - and PMd others in the past - and he is the first to contact me directly to resolve an issue. Whatever the issues I have experienced it is apparent to me that Figarti is interested and making a good faith effort to address the issue. As a collector, I appreciate the willingness to listen and the effort to make it right.

If I call someone out it is only fair that I acknowledge their efforts to respond - my hat is off to Rick for his diligence.

And To Sierra Toy Soldier (Myska, Mike, and Andy), For always making sure that they Have a happy Customer. KUDOS to both.

Theres that saying " You going to attract more things with Honey, Than with Vinergar" is That an American/ English Saying Or an Oriental One ;)

I have six tanks and have not had any problems. I spoke to Rick at the Westcoaster about the issue and I feel very comfortable that if any issue comes up, he will take care of it. He is very committed to standing by his product.

I must admit that Figarti stands behind their products....they have found a replacement Long Tom and have arranged an exchange/replacement for me......Both Rick and Peter have proved themselves very helpful and courteous in handling this matter......DEFINITELY TWO THUMBS UP FOR FIGARTI..:):)....Sincere Thanks...Vezzolf

With great respect I submit that Figarti is a top notch, classy organization in every way. I have all the confidence in the world in their team and products. They offer a lot to this amazing hobby, including, but certainly not limited to, a real sense of professionality, legitimacy, and an unyielding desire to not only produce the best possible, most innovative products they can, but they also have a proportionate commitment to customer satisfaction.
Maybe best thing with Figarti is I always feel like there is something truly fantastic just around the corner.
