Artillery sets and soft skinned vehicles never sell as well as tank models, especially those based on British prototypes. These two models are a real risk for Figarti in the present economic conditions.
Your photos are not of the finished Matador are they? I ask because the truck has no mirrors that I can see in your photos. Thanks.
Donnie
going by accurate-armour photos the AEC Matador Tractor (Mid production) did not have mirrorsWing mirrors, seems be a quite confusing issue,i have Googled images and it seems to be a 50/50 split, some with mirrors some without,so i don't whos wrong or right on this issue![]()
The Airfix one doesn't have them so thats good enough for me![]()
Steveo....
As its such an ugly truck its probably best without as, the crew would not have to look at it through them. Its right I have seen plenty with and plenty without. Duxfords one seems to be without also so, its one of those nobody is wrong and nobody is right kind of thing

The whole thing sounds like my wife's car. One day it's got wing mirrors, the next day they're gone, or rather resting beside a pillar in a car park. I put fresh ones on, next week, one's missing again.![]()
I saw that the image of the Matador Steve posted said "Gazala." This truck was used in the Desert War and here are some models that someone made.
Does Figarti have any intentions to make this in Desert?

Those pillars are sneaky devils... they jump out when you least expect it!![]()
Guys,
Arrived home tonight to a number of parcels from Shanghai.
ChurchillAVRE,5.5insGun Iraqi armour (for Wraith) and of course the Matador.
I spoke with the factory and they were in two minds re the mirrors.
The accurate-armour model is what we based our thoughts on but we would have liked to have added wing mirrors as we felt that would be realistic.
However, on the grounds of fragility and any pictures show large mirrors with (at 1/30 scale) very thin supports we opted to portray the model without.Once I've opened the boxes I'll post photos of the actual model which on first glance is even better thanh the prototype we had at the June London Show.
Regards
Clive
