Combat, who said they hoped it would fail? Clearly you are interested in the Eastern Front but I fear you are in the minority, but then there are plenty of other ranges that attract a smaller percentage of collectors. I just thought it was a risky theater for a new company to start with. And then of course several members decided to try and take me down purely because I disagreed with them which resulted in another kerfuffle
at this rate, andy would have released another tiger tank before you could even start!
Apparently, I missed out on all the fun last night. Strange that posts are deleted when things get a bit heated. I doubt anyone who participates takes any real offense. My only beef is how the eastern front can be deemed risky based on the experience of one toy soldier manufacturer several years ago? Frankly, I think it would be risky to simply redo what KC has covered extensively for the past several years. You can't mix the FL figures with the KC lines. How many collectors would have separate D-Day, N. Africa and Bulge displays for FL after investing in similar KC lines? That doesn't seem likely. This is starting from a clean slate. My guess is FL will get round to Italy very shortly based on the discussions on other forms. So everyone will be happy.
Just checked out the seventeen figures, twelve are Germans and only five of them are Russians
But this is only the very beginning! There will be more Russians than you can shake a stick at! (and you shouldn't shake a stick at any, they might cut your head off, beat your mother, and eat your children brutal lot that they were - much safer to hang out with the goosesteppers and guys with funny little moustaches...)
Or two more likely. The sistine chapel wasn't painted overnight...we will serve no figures before their time!
Good on you mate. Thank heavens you don't get your marketing advice from some in this forum. But this is only the very beginning! There will be more Russians than you can shake a stick at! Good luck with selling those naughty Russians, I think you will need it
sumptuous.
i agree to patiently wait for your Tigers, as long as the Takeda cavalry is in schedule
I'm very happy to be proved wrong here, but didn't they first appear at Lenningrad?
Have i missed something and has Matt announced Tigers?
Rob
Crikey this thread realy has evolved somewhat ,
I take it from the posts I missed ,the bruhaha continued
For a while until both sides conceded some points
and found some common ground .
Forget all this nonsense mate,
I see the Hurricanes are looking good.
I hope the Sharks don't let me down with their last three matches.
Damian , When it comes to rugby ,Wellington based sides can be
pretty unpredictable but fingers and toes crossed they dont self
detruct. I see on the news last night Richie Mcaw has suffered
another concusion so that could be a major concern when the
AB,s kick off .
What an award winner this thread is; 14 pages long and 136 posts, half of which are deleted. Kind of tough to follow along with this novel with half the pages torn out.
One thing that really annoys me is to read time and time again as to how K & C's Berlin Range did not sell well; as a dealer, I beg to differ. The T34, King Tiger, armored car, soviet rocket launcher and the two anti tank guns all sold very, very well for me, as did the three buildings. l have a list as long as my arm of collectors who are after the corner ruin if i can find one for them.
Ditto on the infantry sets, the Germans with all of their variety were very well recieved and the Russian sets and poses were excellent IMO as well.
Matt has chosen the most important battle of WWII with this Stalingrad range; it was the beginning of the end for Hitlers Germany and only one more victory followed on the Eastern Front for them after Stalingrad. An entire German army was wiped off the face of the earth.
While it may not be everyones cup of tea, noone can argue the quality of the figures, they are jaw dropping.
There are other components of this range in the works which I cannot speak of, but the concept that he has chosen is brilliant; all (and I mean all) of the components of a particular battle are going to made available to collectors to recreate the battle in as small or as grand of a scale as each collector choses. Matt has taken the wargaming model and applied it to toy soldiers and I think the concept is brilliant, so kudos to him and his associates...................
Personally I am scared to go to sleep tonite in case I miss any excitement.
