because many collectors are Private Ryan historians with an almost complete ignorance of the eastern front.
Combat this is an excellent POST, I mean REALLY EXCELLENT...

People here are just interested on Bulge, D-Day and 8th Army…..

But Rod,there is nothing wrong with people being interested in their own country's involvement in the war,i'm guessing in Russia the collectors are not interested in D Day and 8th Army at all.You have a real passion for your favourite theatre of the War,and in the same way everyone else does too.:)

Wow
This thread is like Borodino the day after the Battle. Littered with deleted posts and the odd banning.

I agree, it seems as though weapons of mass extraction have been applied. I think the simple answer to all this is the war was fought from 1939-1945. We won. The End.

I must say I agree with Rob. We are collecting things that interest us. We are not collecting in order to pay homage to or remember or to accurately display history. There is no politically correct list of campaigns we must collect in an equal fashion. I am interested in Waterloo rather than Borodino, the AZW and Sudan rather than the American Indian Wars and Alamein rather than Okinawa. The Eastern Front is interesting and important but is not high on my list of things to collect. I am glad FL has released it rather than the usual suspects in WWII as there seem to be a lot of good guys like Rodrigo and Nasir who are passionate about the whole campaign. You guys have kept demanding and now you are going to be rewarded by what look like some really great toy soldiers. At the end of the day we all have to have some sort of approach to our collecting, as we all have limted budgets. If I was Bill Gates I would buy every single toy soldier produced by every manufacturer for sure but as I am not I make choices. So to all the guys who have been after the Eastern Front and there seem to be a lot of you I am really happy that your tenacity is going to be rewarded. Come on Matt you have got everyone at fever pitch show us the moneyshot now.:D

only some credible dialogue and a few cheesy lines remain.

I don't have any issue with collectors buying these ranges. I hope they enjoy them. What torks me is when we hear over and over that "the eastern front will not sell." Even before a single figure has been released. Why would any collector hope that it will fail? What is the basis of that opinion? The KC Battle of Berlin did not sell ergo no eastern front related item will ever sell??? There are a lot of lines that I don't collect, but why go on and on with the manufacturer about what a terrible decision it is. Anyone think FL is going to change their mind at this point?

That would be something to see.
Talking of which we are all at fever pitch here. Where is the real deal.
Come on Matt put us out of our misery show us the figures.

Yes, I'm happy for those who like this part of the War and I anxiously look forward to Rod's dios using FL figures. I'm sure it will be smashing.

Well that depends on which "here" you are talking about.;) I am interested in Talavera, Salamanca, Albuera, Buçaco, Cadiz, Fuentes de Oñoro, Orthez, Vitoria, Barrosa, Cuidad Rodrigo, Badajoz, Corunna and Roliça, to mention a few.;):D

Certainly it is nice to see a generally under represented part of a conflict get its due for any period.

wow.

are you reading the players list from FC Zaragoza? :D

Boy that dead horse must be awful sore . . . .:p:D;)
Well first off there is nothing dead about it. Secondly, a little levity is never amiss and thirdly, I certainly don't mind what anyone else would prefer to collect or discuss. Now if someone would like to compare points that are raised here with amazing redundancy, I am more than pleased to oblige.:D

This is one thick skinned old nag, I thought she was a goner but she's back again :D

Combat, who said they hoped it would fail? Clearly you are interested in the Eastern Front but I fear you are in the minority, but then there are plenty of other ranges that attract a smaller percentage of collectors. I just thought it was a risky theater for a new company to start with. And then of course several members decided to try and take me down purely because I disagreed with them which resulted in another kerfuffle :D

Oh I think we could find a better example of thick skinned old nags if we tried.
