Flak (1 Viewer)

My order came. Both Opel's were fine. Winter Flak set with crew needed some touch up glue but was repairable. One grey Flak arrived unscathed but the second looked like it took a direct bomb hit. Replacement was sent from the dealer and unfortunately it looks worse. Seats, shields and one of the guns is completely trashed.
It looks like these sets are packed pretty good but I think what happens is that upon delivery from the dealer, weight pressure from other packages presses down directly on the sets in the shipped box and there is not much room between the foam and the top of the box these sets come in. I would suggest shipping by a triple box method. This might help in some cases.
Anyways I'm glad I got two survivors out of the whole deal.

Sounds like the survival rate of these sets is less than 50% :redface2:

Not sure we can say survival rate is less than 50%!!! Thats a bit unfair to TG as we have no facts other than a few posters etc on here to make such comments. To do that we would need to know the condition of every single set and, we do not.

Certainly is not good for TG as a new company and frustrating for those with damaged flaks but, lets try and keep the perspective here

I would put survival rate at 20%

Again, as I said to PA what are you basing this on you nor he knows all the hundreds of collectors or dealers who recived these sets to ascertain whether they were all broke or not. even if broken several people have said they have been able to affix loose parts so, they are now not in the broken catagory. Wild speculation which, does TG no benefit.

Breakages happen we all know that (it should not but it does) but, lets try and stick to what we know and not venture off into what mainwaring said to jones in Dads army '' the realms of fantasy''

My survival rate is at 50%. Have to look at it tonight to see if it needs to be returned. It isn't as bad as some I have seen on here. I hope......

Boy I must be lucky.....I have a lot of TGM stuff and I have just had to do a minor repair here and there. Love their stuff.

Also there have been a lot of Figarti breakage complaints, I have had a lot of luck with them also. I would say most of my major repairs have been on TCS products. Alex

I just wanted to express that I am in no way discouraging anyone from not buying these sets. I posted just to make others aware that there could be expected breakages or possible simple repairs to be made upon delivery. If you were lucky to receive yours in perfect condition then so be it. If you have a brick and mortar store close by and you don't have to deal with shipping then you are very lucky. Not the choice for me and as always my dealer has been great through the return process.
I tip my hat to TG for making these sets and as others have pointed out they were a value at the prices listed. The detail in incredible.
My only wishes were a grey uniformed crew to go with the grey quad and that the guns would have fit in the back of the Opel truck. Besides that my skies are a little more protected now from those pesky tank busters!

I received 4 FLAKS today and no problems there all in A1 condition.
Ive never received anything damaged from TGM not even my 190,s,now i live along way from ENGLAND where there posted so we must have great gentle posties in Australia..................^&grin
Great pieces my only regret is not grabbing more.
