Gary's collection (2 Viewers)

Could easily have this plane in my collection, very nice. Trying to resist due to space limitations. I have the cat.^&grin, Robin.

Saturday morning and its diorama time.

First up and its the Thirty Years War and my expanding collection of Spanish troops. I probably need some Fench cavely or Musketeers next.

Second up and more Spanish troops this time in Cuba 1898. The Spanish troops were to a certain degree forsaken by their government back in Europe. Roosevelt's US 'Rough Riders' seeing them off.

And now the cold as Marshal Ney encourages some stragglers to catch up with the remnants of the French army in full retreat from Russia in 1812.

Thank you so much for your compliments - it makes posting my humble efforts on this forum worth it. Gary

Its Good Friday morning and thankfully no clearing up after last night's cyclone. Time then for a couple of dioramas before relaxing on the deck with a beer on a warm sunny autumn afternoon.

First up and its a Burmese village sometime in the later stages of WW2. Australian troops are arriving to hold up for the night and thankfully using local huts that are in good repair for a dry nights sleep for once. A brew will soon be on the go!

Next up and its North Africa 202 BC. The Roman army has arrived to threaten its arch enemy Carthage and Hannibal has rushed back from Italy to defend his empires capital. Unfortunately for him he is soundly beaten and Rome becomes the dominant power in the Mediterranean for the next 600 years.

For this diorama its back to the jungle. This time to Vietnam in the late 1960's US forces are investigating a potential NVC hideout by air and water.

Up next and celtic tribes in the borderlands between Romano Britain and Pictish Scotland. They gather at the old cross before embarking on a raid to take cattle, women and anything else they can get their hands on. First they have to avoid those Roman patrols though.

Last up for the Easter break and it's back to the deserts of North Africa during WW2. Indian and Australian troops have been successful in overcoming an Afrika Korps machine gun nest.

No question about it Gary, you have a vast and varied collection and you display all of them to their best. Hope you have had a happy Easter. Robin.

Thanks Robin. It's been quiet as my wife is visiting family in the UK. Time to visit vineyards and brewers alehouses with friends and do the odd diorama of course. It's turned cold in NZ though. Just been surfing the web and fancy picking up some WB stuff. Apart from a few Vikings and Saxons I haven't collected much from them in recent years. German 88, Sudan war Egyptians and Scott's and a few other bits and pieces seem worth the investment. Go well my friend.

Hi Gary,

Your Vietnam dio is fantastic. I love that Huey. Who made that bad boy? You've got me really interested in some of the jungle sets. I missed out on those huts which I liked upon seeing. Great stuff!
