I rarely look at this thread anymore and was wondering if anyone is willing to discuss anything but WWI or WWII? Talk about boring no doubt I love K@C product but have to move on to something else as it looks like no end in site to the WWars how many tanks can you make and how many times can you make them! Andy if you are reading these lots of collectors love your stuff but we all dont collect WW and many collectors dont participate in forums so this is an opinion of few! All the wonderful forum members will respond on how it SELLS god forbid if it gets out that the WWars are not the only time frame people collect. These collectors might not get 30 tanks per year! Comon produce something new! Make ten new crusaders a month why not they will sell! Alright lets here the same song from all the WWar collectors K@C will only produce what sells how do you know what sells if you dont try anything different?

K&C do successful ranges other than WWI and WWII.
Although I don't collect them, the Alamo range is quite striking, as is the AWI range.
The Napoleonics are excellent if you want to get into them. Some folk don't like the Roman range (I do, but each to their own) and the Barbarians are pretty good. Crusaders and Saracens anyone..?? The Ancient Egypt range offers something different and as for SOHK/IC, well I'm 100% hooked on these.
So, I think there's plenty of choice available for those who are fed up of Khaki or Field Grey. And don't forget the promised two new ranges that are supposed to appear this year. What would you like the new ranges to depict Joel..?? Maybe they might be exactly what you've been waiting for..

Custer Last Stand more Crusaders anything Western your not gonna tell me that K@C is not TOTALLY over weighted in the WWar stuff? Again how many tanks can you make before you move on to something else? I like K@C top quality I just want something I can buy again why not release crusaders and saracens every month like you do armymen? They will sell! Some jousting knights some gun and limbers for the civil war the 7th calvary mounted confederates some Mongols Spartans French and Indian War think K@C would produce awsome F@I war regardless of the competiton I could go on!

I suppose I could pose a lengthy post and go ad infinitum about how WW II pays the bill for the other ranges, etc. but I don't think that would appease you or make you happy. My suggestion is that you email Andy directly through K & C. He is quite responsive to emails and perhaps he'll be able to reply to your concerns.

Regarding WW1/2 threads.Because WW2 is the most popular range people are bound to talk about it the most.We have several people on here that collect more than just WW2 and they join in discussions on all subjects.WW2 is a hugely popular subject thats just the way it is.You can always post a thread (as some have done before)asking for a discussion on Naps,Crusaders or whatever else.

My response was intended to be none-confrontational Joel and contained some suggestions for alternative ranges to collect other than WWI and II.
Of the more affordable manufacturers, Conte has probably cornered the market on Spartans, likewise EoI on Ancient Greeks and Persians, and of course JJD on FIW, although Frontline do a good range of this era as well. We've been informed that there will be additions to K&C's Crusader and Saracen ranges later this year. Tinbay do offer six excellent Mongol figures although they're a wee bit more pricey than K&C *.
What excites me is the two new ranges, and we've been promised they're not WW. Why not begin a thread in the K&C section discussing what these might be..??
* BTW, those Tinbay Mongols are on my radar scope if this isn't going to be one of the new K&C ranges.

I think I can understand your "gripe" but believe you have skewed it the wrong way re K&C over weighting their WW products. What you really mean I believe is that this forum is dominated by WW collectors who are avid fans and appear to be much more vocal when extolling WW AV's and figures- especially the K&C range- in comparison to other members who remain almost silent about other era's that they may or want to collect.
Let me elaborate a little on my statement before you and the WW collectors blow me out of my bunker. I have to agree with the comments posted by Harry, Brad, Rob and Andy that the K&C collection really does have something for everyone and not just WW stuff just a glance at their catalogue tells you that's a pretty good variety of eras they are offering. Now currently it might not be your bag as I know by your posts you're a big Custer/Indian/Western fan and so am I but the truth is if there are other members with the same interest out there they tend to be dumb about it or too shy to discuss on the forum.
You may know or you may not that my passion is the ACW and when I joined what I thought was a predominantly US toy soldier forum I did expect to meet quite a number of other civil war nuts but the truth is they are very few and far between on here. Sure they are out there but hardly inundate the forum with comments and interesting info as the WW guys do. My ACW and recent FIW dios have had a great number of hits on them and quite a lot of complimentary and appreciative comments but rarely have there been any questions or comments on the war/battle itself unlike a WW dio which invariably gets dozen of comments on camouflage/decals/weapons/uniforms etc. once again it's the genuine passion, explicit knowledge and vocals of the WW collectors on the forum.
Likewise a discussion thread Capitol Ron started on the ACW a couple of months ago which I joined in with relish but after Ron disappeared and never came back it ended up with me being the only clown posting comments which I have now stopped and the thread has subsequently died. Randy had the same problem with his FIW topic and the same couple of usual suspects were the only guys posting. But I do agree that it is noticeable that a thread on Tiger tanks will last for months with a tremendous amount of active participation from like-minded WW collectors, that's just the way it is and dare I say a little unfair to lay at K&C's door that they dominate their product with WW stuff because after all if I was in the business of manufacturing toy soldiers and just used this forum as a yard-stick on what's currently popular with collectors by analysing the comments and polls that are regularly posted here I would definitely be producing far more WW figures and tanks than K&C are currently offering. That's the first rule of a successful business-give em what they want!

Excellant post Reb..And for any of you new guys who have not yet seen Rebs ACW dio's let me tell you they are THE dio's to see.Indeed so good are they that they reignited my interest in the period,and this from a WW die hard!.
I also agree with Reb re the range K&C produce.ACW/AWI/Romans/Ancient Egypt and the Hugely popular Naps show what a wide range is available and as Reb said you got to give the public what they want.Also not every WW2 range is bound to be a huge seller.There have been lots of posts recently about how the Russians don't seem to sell as much as was thought.And i have always been surprised the US Marines are not huge sellers either,i thought there would be a huge appetite for these amongst our American friends.It goes to show that whatever the era nothing is definite,not even WW2.The only definite thing with K&C is the quality,that you can count on

This thread is much more fun than hearing about another tank for the 100th time. Like I said it was getting boring. All the posts have valid points and Rebs point is correct the forum is dominated by WWar collectors. I am not bashing K@C I love thier stuff just want more of it that I collect and will continue to voice my very minority opinion. Good day to all

No problem.Not everyone is in to WW1/ 2 and thats what makes the hobby and this forum so interesting.Even as a dedicated WW2 Collector i need something a little different to collect.Thats why i enjoy the Charge of the Light Brigade so much and also have interests in the Zulu War and also the ACW.I would also love to collect the Egyptian range,we went there on honeymoon and i love the place,however my budget just will not stretch that far i'm afraid!

If you've got a beef, then consider a collector whose favorite areas of history are the Seven Years War and the Imperial German Army.
It reminds me of hearing Cubs fans gripe about how their team hasn't won a World Series in 100 years. I'm a Phillies fan, who are the losingest professional sport franchise of all time-not just in baseball, but in any professional sport. Sure, there have been some highs (1950, 1980, 1993), but most of their history is a tale of tears and frustration.
Red Sox fans used to be as bad, but since the last two World Series, they've changed their tune.
Actually, I find everything here in the forum interesting, from the pictures of what each of us collects, to the discussions on historical topics to modeling techniques. I think that is the nature of any hobby that involves history, and offers its followers a creative outlet. To paraphrase Sgt Sefton from "Stalag 17", "There's a lot of information floating around a toy soldier collectors' website".

Isn't there already a set somewhere depicting the 7th at Little Big Horn? Maybe not K&C, or even from a toy soldier maker, I may be thinking of a series of military miniature kits a la Andrea.

There is a figure of a Union officer kissing his wife/sweetheart goodbye, and its sculpt and paint make him a dead ringer for Custer at the time of the Civil War.
