It occurs to me we need some cavalry figs with slouch hats. I know more cavalry is coming next yr, maybe Ken with make them with new hear gear. Chris

A very nice series of photos Chris. Great looking collection of ACW figures . . . . .
:smile2: Mike

Very nicely done Chris now looking forward to seeing what your Rebs are up to..........The Lt.

Chris: That is a very nice ACW presentation. Your diodramas are always so well presented. Glad to see you splicing in some of the well done but controversial FL figures. The ones you depict, I agree, are the most worthy of the lot. You are definitely up in the big three, in my view, of ACW presenters based on this layout and your previous blockbuster six gun WB Union Artillery battery diorama. I would rank you up in that territory with that brilliant craftsman, UK Reb aka Bob Jones and the splendid, historically accurate presentations of Mike Estell...worthy company. It is always a treat to see your work and like Bob and Mike your generosity in sharing your layouts is most appreciated on this Derby day. Here's to your old Kentucky home!

Thanks for the kind replies Mike and Cruelios.
Thanks also Joe, but I don't have any Conferates to display....yet. :wink2:
Jeff, it's definitley an honor to be mentioned with Bob and Mike. WB is coming out with more cavalry and artillery, and maybe some limbers next yr. Looking fwd to adding those to the display. Very much appreciate your remarks. Chris

Controversial? In what way?

Anyway, back to toy soldiers.

Chris, really like this layout very much, both the size of it and the action you depicted, do you have any larger shots showing the entire thing in all of it's glory?

Having just been there last week and been over that very ground, if it weren't for the stand made by the Union cavalry and the heroics of the 1st and 11th Corps, specifically the Iron Brigade, the battle may very well have been lost on the first day.

Chris; between yourself, Mike and Bob, thanks for covering the battles of the ACW so well in the larger scale, I appreciate you sharing your collection with the rest of us.

Well done and I look forward to future showcasing of your collection, specifically those Rebs you talked about.............

The FL figurines are not a train wreck. They just had some over the top creative license applied. Most of us are really impressed by the WB dismounted Union Cavalry figurines for quality, value (on average $22 a piece vs $55 for an FL figure) and historical accuracy. Regards to you once again.

Hi Warrior, here's an overhead shot and a few more. Still working on a suitable backdrop. The trim on the right side is detachable so I can add on in the future. Ken may release an ACW house later this yr and hope to expand the dio. Many thanks for your comments. It's been a while since I've been able to visit Gettysburg but will be there next yr for the anniversary reenactment. Chris

Chris,
Many thanks for the expanded shot, that looks superb, thanks for doing that.

Yourself, Mike and others who own terrain boards from Ken are very lucky, he does superb, top shelf work, museum quality.

I thank you, Mike and UKReb among others for sharing your collections with the rest of us..............

Great looking dio base Chris . . . . I am aware of Ken's plans to produce a series of 18th/19th century American buildings/structures and am anxiously awaiting them. The Gettysburg building he is working on will be a must have for me.

Outstanding set of shots and a great collection you're building there-Really like the perspective of your first shot of the Union battery-that's not so easy to set up and keep everything in focus-But you nailed it. So much so it reminds me of Maxwell's aerial shot of the Reb guns in the movie Gettysburg. I must try that out on my own troops-thanks for the inspiration- I'll let you know how I get on.

Many thanks Bob, been following your diodrama series with keen interest for some time. I never tire of looking at your latest Bigelow Battery scenes.

Hi Mike, hoping we see the Cordoi house this yr.

Hey, just discovered the mulit-quote function! Guess I'm a slow learner. :rolleyes2: Regards, Chris

Chris,

Great looking setup and base, and nice collection that you have.

I should be receiving my Chosen Ground Display Base next week that I purchased from Sierra and look forward to posting some photos that I hope only come out as well as yours.
