Go spurs go!!! (2 Viewers)

Brad,

"What have I done to deserve such dis-respect?"-The Godfather. Oh wait I started it!!!

For shame Brad, that you think that NY has better Messican food than Texas...for Shame. There is Messican food here that will make you change your religion. Plus, there are a couple of dishes here that make you momentarily pass out just from the flavor. As a matter of fact, I will bet that our Messican fast food would blow any NY high dollar Messican you got there. Did you know that Fajitas are field (as in migrant worker) food? I would also bet that New Yorkers "pan fry" fajitas and don't use mesquite wood for cooking. Tell me, that y'all have a forest of mesquite trees in Central Park just for grilling of fajitas, shrimp brochette and carnitas? Yup, thought so...and please don't tell me you have the best BBQ!!!

You have dropped the gauntlet sir and I am sorry that the Knicks nor the Nets can figure out where to play. They Knicks have never been same since Pat Riley left and the Nets...to Crooklyn?...good Lawd bunch of traitors.

I would love to visit NY and one of the restaurants I would like to go to is Tommy Lugers Steaks house. Apparently, it is the best? Maybe you would know better? But until proven otherwise I will have to put TEXAN Messican, BBQ, Chicken Fried Steak, Burgers, Steaks, Borracho Beans, Spanish Rice, Tortillas and yes SALSA toe to toe with NY. Naw, on second thought there is no comparison!

Now, as far as the whole "pueblo" thang is concerned...Yeah, I am sure SA could fit in a little part of Manhattan, BUT if we are to compare States to States, well I am sure there is spot in the drought afflicted West Texas that NY could fit int. I say "drought" cause that seems to be the status of y'all s basketball teams. But, if we want to talk about land masse I would rather live on 2 acres of Texas Hill Country than be 2 feet from my neighbor...or is it 2 inches?

Ummm...vaccinations? Well yes you may need one called "no mas puto", that shot is given upon landing in Texas. It is a strong elixir of Dr. Pepper (from Texas), Big Red Soda (from Texas) and a Prickly Pear (from Texas) margarita. If you get one of those, then you are good and can handle just about anything in Texas.

But, I will give you this, I have never had street pizza, street dawgs, or a Knish. They all sound so good, but I know for a fact I may have to get a gamma globulin shot for that.

Your brother from another mother,

John From Texas

Panzer,

See, I have not had Pizza from NY and I am doubly sure that it is the bomb!!! Nor have I had a dog in Chicago, but I hope that changes this September. However COMMA, the best Sushi and Sashimi I have ever had is in Japan. I mean I got to eat it from the Muddah land and uh yeah it is good. In fact, I did have blow fish once and do live to tell about it.

But I do have have a confession to make and I may be seen as a little turncoat here, but the best Steak I ever had was a $150 Kobe beef steak in Tokyo. I have not had one since, but there is a Steak House at the PGA at TPC PKWY in North San Antonio that has one that rivals the one in Japan. The place in Japan was called "The Hungry Tiger" and good lawd them steaks was good.

I have not heard back from Jazz? Have you seen him? Is he eating at Juancho's Messican Food of New Yawk?

John from Texas

Yeah, I just had Taco Bell. Beats anything in San Antone I'm sure :wink2:

By by the way, John I was raised in Latin America and Spain so don't think I don't know what you're saying

If you're going to have Kobe Beef, you have it in Kobe and, yes, I've had it there. Other than that the best steak place in the US is Smith and Wollensky in NY. If you want better steak, go to Argentina and, yes, I've eaten there too, plenty of times. Had sushi in Tokyo where the fish that we were eating was silver five minutes before. How do I know? The head was still moving.

Brad,

Then we are compadres...yes, I too had the breathing fish filet on a platter. I had all my chops ready for some sashimi and when the platter showed up I was like...allright...this guy is still breathing...pass the soy and wasabe. I have heard that the beef in Argentina is pretty good, but man the steaks in Japan are like heaven. I think you would really never know unless you have had one. Do you agree? I have yet to travel south. The furthest (in North America) I have been the Florida Keys and South Padre Island, TX. I intend to do more traveling South since I was invited recently to the Dominican Repubic and I must take my family to the Amazon before sadly, it may be gone.

So, Jazz you are a world traveler internacional man...what are you CIA? Tell the truth here...

John:

I should have said my list was from The United States.

And the hot dogs in Chicago are so good even the ones at the airport are tasty!!!!

Brad is probably busy celebrating the Rangers' return to the Stanley Cup finals.

Sheesh, another awful game in this series, nothing but blowouts.

In NY, it seems you can get good Pizza anywhere. A few months ago, I had a meeting in NY and was pressed for time so after I got off the train at Penn Station and saw a small pizza place, two slices and a soda for $5. Great pizza! Who would have thought.

However, the best deep dish pizza is in Chicago. On the Thursday night of the Chicago Show, Andy and about twenty other collectors go to Lou Malnati's. Fantastic pizza and always a great time.

Jazz,

First of all, GO SPURS GO and the school yard sissy whopping commenced! The Manu voodoo doll candle light vigil worked (I got to send you guys a pic) and it was a stomping.

I am down for some deep dish pizza, but what about those sangwiches (from Chicago) that you dip in au juis sauce? What are they called...french dip...or something else. Everytime I think of Chicago I think of the two guys from Saturday Night Live "Da Bears" routine. Hey Jazz are going to Chicago this year...we got to meet.

Also, you never answered my CIA question...so "I know your working for the CIA , the wouldn't have you in the Ma FI A"? War

John from Texas

Another bad game but you knew it was going to happen. The Heat were not going to be denied.

Spurs OKC probably going seven. Heat will be rested.

CIA? If I said no or no comment, would you believe me? If I said, yes, then what? Cover is blown So, I will say no :wink2: That's what good tradecraft demands.

Jazz,

Ovetime....good lawd. The diorama at the JFK museum at Dealey Plaza is incredible. Pics to follow.

John from Texas

Hadn't realized the game was on tonight.

Now, that it's settled, Heat in six or seven.

It looks like game 6 made up for all of the blow outs. I am almost sorry there will not be a game 7.

Every time I get to go back to Jersey, One of my first things to do is order some real N.Y. Pizza. A Large cheese Pizza and I eat it all in one meal.........{sm3}

Jazz (the Spurs hater),

Where is the love my brother? Where is the GO SPURS GO spirit? Why after all this...you have to go turn coat on me? The Spurs started the season with POP showing them last years film of the last game and saying "its over, now lets move on", and move on they did to a re-match of the highest order. This is the Ali vs. Frazier part II, this is Rocky vs Apollo Creed, the "Thrilla in Manila", "The Rumble in the Jungle"...this is payback!

There is NO way that the Spurs will not come out of this victorious as they have been sharping their axes for a whole year. They have thinking about this loss for a year and had it hanging over their heads everyday since last year. The pain, the embarrassment and the devastation allowed them to "own" it. And in my humble opinion when you "own" something like that you never want to sell it or rent it out. You keep it tucked away in the back of your mind as a reminder of the sting and the hurt of losing.

The time has come for the supposed "King James" to be de-throned. He has yet to eat humble pie. In fact, he has never even smelled it, as those around him have hailed him as infallible to the common man. The NBA, the media and his team have allowed him to rule with impunity since his entry in the NBA. But, the truth is (which no one has yet to mention to him) is that he is "A King with out Clothes" who parades up and down life naked in the world of sports.

POP, Tim, Manu, TP and every single fan of the Spurs know how to bake and make humble pie. We have been served healthy servings of it and know the recipe well. So, as we enter the Finals with bellies full of humble pie we have all the strength we need to take ANY team the distance. Then at the end enjoy the sweetness of victory and pass along the recipe of that pie that will be shoved down their throat.

GO SPURS GO!

I'm not a Spurs hater as I root for neither team and have more incentive to dislike the Heat as they play in the East.

The Heat have Lebron and he's just one of the best who have ever played. Over the years the Knicks battled the Bulls in some fantastic playoff series and lost them all but it was hard not to have a grudging admiration for Jordan. The same thing goes for Lebron as he can do it all. The potential advantage for the Spurs is the extra home game but other than that you have to go with the Heat.

John, in you speak like a true fan and you should believe in your team. Otherwise, why be a fan. I wish you luck but faith should be tempered with reality.

this is gonna be a very fun series to watch...even though records don't show it...I think these are the best 2 teams for each conference...

this year...SA has home court advantage...I still think that is huge...

friendly fans...home cooking...no traveling...no planes...no airports...no bad nights sleep in hotel rooms...family and friends close...the comfortable feeling of home court is hard to beat...

Allright Jazz......................deep sigh.......................................................shall we put a wager on it?

This is what I can wager:

A bag of Julios Chips and Salsa. If you have not had Julio's before, well fuuughheetttabboudit!
A Six Pack of Big Red Soda. Once again a Texas Soda that is too die for.
A $20 gift certificate to Taco Bell/Hell.
A Spurs 2014 Championship T-shirt with free chips, salsa and Big Red Stains.

Take your pick...Whatcha you got?

Mike,

All of those factors are HUGE and the Spurs need all the rest they can get. Bumps, bruises, aches and pains need healing. I went to the Mexico vs. Ecuador game in Dallas on Saturday and saw that dude from Mexico break his shin in two. It was awful, they did not show it on the jumbo TV's at Jerry's House and now I know why. When I saw the replay's this morning...I was stunned. It was awful man as his leg did the whole "snap" in two thing. Ugh!

I will be beating drums at night in front of the Rivercenter where the Heat are staying for some midnight music. Good Lord the whole world media will be here in San Antonio! Last year the Championship Games were viewed by some 3 Billion viewers worldwide. Whew! I ran into journalists from Mumbai, Turkey, Russia and maybe this year from North Korea.

John from up the street in Texas

PS: Even though Jazz says he is not a "hater" I think he secretly wishes he was in Texas and wearing silver and black and eating mesquite grilled fajitas.

John,

Are you a soccer fan? Getting excited for the Cup? I know I am. I'm awaiting for my team, La Furia Roja, to get going.

I root for every country I lived in: Uruguay, Trinidad, Brasil and (but especially) Spain. Only 11 days to go!

John...

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere...
that Lebron likes very loud Mariachi music at 2:00AM...

horns...
lots of horns...

I'm pretty sure...^&grin

Parker's wheel must really be hurt pretty bad if Pop didn't let him play the second half...
hopefully by Thursday...
he will be up to par...
they won't win if he doesn't play...
