Sammy,

...and it was the bench guys (Green, Kwai, and Diaw) who stole the show! I actually had to rewind the last few minutes of the 2nd quarter to see how many times the ball was passed because I could not keep up. Yeah, man that was a stunning performance by the Spurs and I am amazed at how stoic these young guys are. They don't beat their chest and yell and scream for crowd acknowledgement, they just play focused. Wow.

Now onto the Heat...I said this before and I will say it again it was the Miami Lebrons again last night. Yes, Lebron can just shot, move and play but if the team relies on his solely to "take em home" then they have major problems. He reminds so much of Icarus.

Last nights game was more of a clinic put on by the Spurs Bench...Yes the bench. Oh, and by the way Sammy two Trinity University Professors here in San Antonio did a math model to calculate the outcome of this series. They have the Spurs a 60% favorite over the Heat. If the Spurs continue to shot 76% it may shot up to 80%.

GO SPURS GO,

John:

Your timber story resonates with me and brings back some painful memories. When I was in college I spent 8 hours splitting wood the old fashioned way with an ax for a local rancher. The next morning I literally could not lift my arms to turn off my alarm clock.

And not that you can do it on basketball, but another surefire way to crumple someone who is standing straight up is a shot to the back of the knees.

No excuses for Duncan. Free throws can decide a game.

Best,
Jason

Jason,

So, you know what I mean. Brother I have dug foxholes, filled sandbags, marched for umpteen miles with full packs and have even thrown a lot of concrete. But, that wood cutting business cured me from making "a few bucks" over summer with the ole man. I never went out there again and every time we drive to Houston and see the exit for Flatonia, TX I remember back to those days of heat, pain and exhaustion.

You know, I don't ever remember ever getting cramps out there...I mean Lebron Cramps.

True that John from Texas, look at all the really great championship teams, they had/have alot in common the Bulls of course with Jordon, Pippen, Rodman but the grunt work of that team always helped them out, same as the Lakers, Worthy, Magic, Kareem, but remember how the no name folk of those teams always showed up big time in big games?? as the heat have had great success with the James you most certainly can't win with a one man show, in the Heats championship teams James had alot of help, the fab 3 played great together at times, no so much anymore, talking odds...the Heat are lucky it's not down 3-0, I'll take some of that action of Spurs in 6...Sammy

John...

that was a fun game to watch last night...
it was huge to steal home court back from Miami after that Game 2 performance by Lebron...

if the Spurs...or any team shoots 76%...it's gonna be hard to lose...

congrats to the Spurs for a huge effort to win in Miami...

Sammy,

When the playoffs started and the mohawk dude with all the tats went onto the court I was like "who is that"? It was my son-in-law who said that's "The Birdman", I was like "oh yeah, I forgot he was on this team!". So you are right, the only other cat I can name on the Heat is Dwayne Wade and now the Birdman. Oh and now Chris Bosch because now I have seen him so many times. But, the sun and the moon sets on Lebron from the Heat and did the same thing with Kobe Bryant who turned out to be sexual assault boy, who bought his way out of that mess. Sadly, they make these guys out to be Super Heroes and forget the whole sense of "team" thing. Your right when the Lakers were on a roll it was Majic, Worthy, Kareem and all those dudes you could name them off. Now-a-days...no.

I can't wait for the World Cup to come on...why? 11 Dudes working in tandem to do one thing; score a GOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that's the way the NBA is constituted nowadays: you have to have a lot of stars.

The supporting cast around LeBron doesn't seem as good as the cast around Tim Duncan, although the Spurs are more of a team in concept. Frankly, the Heat are lucky they're not down 3-0.

Someone mentioned on the radio today that LeBron wants to play with Carmelo. Although Carmelo is a scorer, he can't play defense and I'm not sure how he'd fit on the Heat. Doesn't sound like he will be part of the Knicks with the new regime of Jackson and Fisher.

The Spurs remind me of a European team. They play a consistent, high-level of play. Very sound on the fundamentals and rarely beat themselves. They play the first game of the season the same way they play game seven of the finals. A team like the Heat is less consistent. Their game can rise or fall. They can usually dial up a better performance in must win games.

looks to be a repeat of another beat down, if the Heat mail this one in no need to show up for game 5, just forfeit...Sammy

Sammy,

Serena Williams is one of the hottest chicks in sport...good Gawd she is ALL woman (they just showed her). It looks like no fouls will be called tonight on Crawfords watch.

I think we are watching a new era of the Spurs with all the bench players. Plus,it looks like Lebron is losing his cool and making all kinds of noises to pull any foul out there.

GO ehSPURS GO!!!

Sammy,

OMG Kwai Leonards rebound/dunk...a priceless statement.

19 up at half!!!!!!! how the mighty have fallen, I know there's that all or nothing run coming in the second half for the Heat but at this point all Spurs have to do is play good, controlled ball, 3-1 and the heat are done..I made a funny!!...Sammy

All,

Okay I am calling BULLSHIT here!!! Now the announcers are talking about Lebrons stomach/pee-pee problems this game. Are we going down a road that Lebron has stomach cramps, urinary track infections or god forbid...colitis?

C'MON NOW..

John from Texas

Lebron is a great player...but he can't beat San Antonio by himself...it's half way through the 3rd quarter and you have hardly heard Bosh or Wade's name called out...

I'm gonna be the first to say it...San Antonio in 5...

and Doug...you are right...

San Antonio is very reminiscent of the European players...they excel in the fundamentals...

Well, this series is over. Didn't think Heat would lose two at home but there it is. Wonder changes will be made in the off season.

What an epic fail, two blow out losses at home by the best team collusion could buy.

Such frauds.

If they go on to lose this series and if Ray Allen misses that miracle three pointer in game 6 of the finals last year, they'd be 1-3 in the finals.

Jazz,

Can I count you in as a Spurs convert? We will welcome you as the prodigal son coming "home" to Spursville. You were hating on the Spurs and I forgive you, but have you finally seen the light? There is no Lebron in T-E-A-M and it is sad that the Heat fans were booing there own team. Wow, what happened to love em when there down? The Heat fans kick em when there down! Terrible.

Oh and another thing...when the Spurs lose the NEVER blame each other, like what the Heat are doing to Chamblers.

Jazz, I will be happy to send you some Spurs fan gear!

More good news for the folks in Texas. The Texas Stars are now up 2-1 in the Caulder Cup finals. Maybe not on the same level as the NBA Finals, but it's not an easy feat to win the Cup.

That was a basketball clinic last night, plain and simple.

That ball movement was a thing of beauty, the behind the back bounce pass, the extra pass to a wide open player, the touch passes, wow, just fantastic.

Reminded me of the 1986 Celtics, one of the greatest basketball teams these eyes have ever seen.

Finish these ********* Sunday night.
