Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Hi Louis

A friend of mine recently gave me this tent, the pilot drinking tea, the chap carrying the fuel cans and the sign about A flight on patrol, all these pieces came from an airfield display made a while ago by Tony Williams, there was an aircraft on there but my friend has kept that. Apparently it was made for a small aeronautical museum which has now been closed, my friend has had these pieces in his attic for a long time but when I told him I was making a small WWI airfield display he gave them to me

Regards John

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Reclaimed my Heco Rolls Royce Halftrack Command vehicle today from my good buddy Morgan (for whom I have promised to purchase a Rolls Royce Armored Car from Metal Shed). I am about to take some photos and forward them to Brad with a polite request that he post them for me on this thread.:)

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Here are the photos. Sorry for the delay.

However, you don't expect us to buy that Metal Shed story do you. We know that you're starting to buy Metal Shed :p;):D

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Thanks for posting the photos, Brad!:)

Believe me, I will not start collecting Metalshed while Bruce Hebron remains in business, as I wish to avoid a death spiral into bankruptcy . . . as the items are readily available, the temptation to spend way too much money is just too great!:D:eek::p

This is the Theseus WWI RN armored car and a lovely variant sitting on a table I finished up today.

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Thanks to the kindness of John (Beating Retreat) who connected me with one of his friends, I have just agreed to purchase a wonderful Heco Gloster Gladiator.:cool::cool::cool: When it arrives, I will take comparison photographs of it next to my classic K&C wood Gloster Gladiator and send them to Brad with a polite request that he post them for me.:)

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I just forwarded Brad some photos of the Heco Gloster Gladiator I agreed to purchase with a polite request that he post them when he gets a chance. :) When I receive the Gladiator, I will take some photos of it on my Heco airfield.:cool:

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Nice Gladiator, Louis. Love those bi-planes. -- Al

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Thanks for posting the photos for me Brad!:)

I hope to hear from both Clive and John soon with regard to the posting of the Gladiator and the new Hurricane, so I may be sending you some more Heco photos soon . . .

Thanks, Al. :) It is a lovely biplane, the last biplane fighter introduced to British service. Mine is a MK I, from the first batch delivered to the RAF, in the markins of 33 Squadron, stationed in Haifa, Palestine in 1939.

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Heard from both John and Clive today. I should have the new Hurricane in hand by Thursday. Unfortunately, because of a delay on this end with my new Paypal account, I won't be able to arrange payment and shipping of the Gladiator for a couple of days (sorry John:eek:) . . . so, photos of the new Hurricane on Thursday, the Gladiator soon thereafter!

Re: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Got my paypal issue squared away and made my payment this morning, so the Gladiator should also be on its way soon!:)
