Heco Tinplate Models (2 Viewers)

Re: Wanted: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I sent a photo of the new Helioraph set for Brad to post on the "2009 NY Toy Soldier Symposium" thread on the King & Country forum, along with photos of two of the four WWI Heco biplanes I recently picked up.

I may have a lead on a Heco Hanger to go with my Heco Wind Tower, as well as (dare I hope) a Heco V2 rocket launch site.

So you are the one who bought them.. I had the seller going to break them up, if he did not sell the lot the first go around..It was a bargain as is, but I did not want 4 of them...I own a Heco Dehaviland DH1 2 Seat Pusher Bi-plane....:(Michael

Sorry Michael. Larry Lo bought them for me. I do have a couple of duplicates in my collection, maybe we can work a trade. I also have a Heco Pusher Plane in my collection, but I am not sure if its a De Haviland.

Is there any definitive list out there of what Heco actually made? Michael

Not that I am aware of, but the best person to ask is David Hazell, the former owner of Henley Model Miniatures. He was a major Heco Dealer, and knows Tony and Adele, the owners of the company, personally. I will send him an e-mail, asking if he has such a list.

Re: Wanted: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I received my Heco SE5a today, and it is far and away my favorite Heco plane to date. Now if I could just find the Rolls Royce armored car and WWII aircraft I covet . . . :D:rolleyes:

David Hazell told me he is going to send me a copy of a Heco Catalogue. Here is what he told me:

"I do have what amounted to a HECO catalogue from around the same time. It lists nearly 60 items (but not the tractor) with around 30 photos. I will copy it for you and include it in your next parcel. "

Re: Wanted: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Louis,
I don't have any, sorry. I am interested in seeing your newly acquired figures of the 24th Heliograph set that you got from David H. I would love to see pictures when you can get them to Brad!
Mike

The photo of the Heliograph set was posted by Brad on the King & Country thread for the 2009 New York Toy Soldier Symposium. Its on page 10 of the thread.

I bought a set of Pipeline G.I.'s from Dave to get the catalogue sooner rather than later . . . I think my "next parcel" has already shipped!:D:p

Re: Wanted: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

I received the Heco Catalogue from Dave today, and it is just amazing. There are color photographs of WWI British Whippet, Mark I and French Renault FT-17 Tanks, dozens of WWI planes, many of which I had never seen before, several Royal Flying Corps and RAF buildings, including Hangers, Quonset Huts, etc., there are several WWI Era Trucks and Armored Cars, a Barrage Balloon, and while there are no photos, WWII Planes such as a Hawker Hurricane are listed.:cool::cool::cool:

I will see if I can scan the catalogue and e-mail it to Brad with a polite request that he post it for me.

Re: Wanted: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Louis,
We'll sure be waiting for these gems! Isn't the Haskell family just tops? I've had nothing but great experiences with David since he went on his own!

Re: Wanted: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Mike,

Dave is the best!! I only wish I had come to know him a couple of years ago, I could have obtained a good deal more Heco Tinplate stuff from him. I really have fallen for Heco's products. There is something wonderfully toyish about the stuff, but is is really artistically done. I suspect I am not going to be thanking Dave for the catalogue, as I am going to spend a lot of money and man hours tracking down as much Heco stuff as I can.

Louis,
I ,for one, will be on the lookout for any Heco in my adventures, and will give you a heads up if spotted.

Thanks Mike, I really appreciate that. Just so you know, I already sent Brad the scanned Heco Catalogue from the mid-1990's. Wait till you see the stuff in that catalogue. There's even a truck with a mobile Pigeon loft for the Signals corp.! Heco's stuff is brilliant!!

Michael, if I have any duplicates (I think right now I have duplicates of the Sopwith Camel and the Fokker DR1 triplane) I will trade them to you for any Heco you are willing to part with. I would certainly pass along any newly found or obtained duplicates to you.

Louis,

Do you have any of these? Before you ask, they are old images from the web. Superb models!

Jeff,

I don't have the WWI ambulance, which is on my most wanted list.

I had another version of the Rolls Royce Armored Car depicted, but I gave it to my friend Morgan, who collects Rolls Royce Military vehicles, along with a really cool WWI Rolls Royce Halftrack command vehicle. I want to replace both of these vehicles in my own collection.

I have most of the WWI Planes depicted. I think the only one I don't have is the German high-winged monoplane.

Re: Wanted: Heco Tinplate Vehicles

Jeff,
Thanks for the pics...First time for me seeing some of these planes & vehics
and I have to say...Bravo! What great little works of art they are. I can see why Louis loves them so much, all handcrafted!
Mike
