Oh you are bad.;):D OK, they can remake Kelly's Heroes if Mel Gibson plays Kelly.......tick.....tick....tick.....:D

I think Hugh Jackman would make a good kelly and maybe Brad Pitt as Odball.

Guys

I have picked up on various threads that the original is Rob's favorite American war movie of all time-so just wondering if we could get him a walk on part in the remake as say a swearing British general :D

Only if he gets to work with Mel.:D

How about a "Kelly's Heroes" remake where they re-unite in the 1960's to rob a Vegas casino? Now there is a story line that has never been done.:p -- lancer

We're on to something here. A remake of "Kelly's Heroes" with Jackman as Kelly, Pitt as Oddball (thanks to Ragnar for these two). Leary as Crapgame, Ermy as Little Joe (thanks to DCN1898 for these two), all hitting an Atlantic City cassino (again, thanks to DCN1898). I would like to throw in the possibility of hitting Fort Knox ala Goldfinger but making use of the Abrams tanks that would be available. Any one else? -- lancer

Well besides there being no chance of improving on the original, Jackman simply doesn't strike me as fitting for a staring role in anything but a comic book based production (and even that is in doubt). Pitt is simply not odd enough for the Oddball role. Leary might pull it off as Crapgame and Emery might have, in his prime but he is much too old for that role at this point.

Was not Brad Pitt in that movie about 12 Monkey's? I remember him being pretty wacked out in that. -- lancer

Interesting, I will have to look for that one (although I am not much of a Tarantino fan). No doubt Pitt has the talent but you would have a much harder time convincing me about Jackman.;):D

just found this little clip on youtube of Brad Pitt....how's this for being an oddball.

Here's my list of remakes, not sequels and mostly because it would be great to see some of these and color, authentic equipment or with the advantage of technology.

Battle of the Bulge
Longest Day
Battleground
Battle Cry
The Big Red One
Go For Broke!
In Harm’s Way
Back To Bataan
Twelve O' Clock High

Carlos

Battle of the Bulge is crying out for a remake that would show a true Peiper. Longest day would also be good. Band of Brothers and now Pacific War show the American fighting man in a great light. I would love to see that type of treatment for Commonwealth troops. Even a German perspective of a Wehrmacht squad trying to survive the war would be great. The German film Stalingrad, I thought, was very well done.

That is a fine list Carlos. In Harm's Way (as much as I like the Duke) would be tops on my list, especially if told from the American and Japanese propspective, like Tora, Tora, Tora. Imagine the surface ship duel they could show with modern FX and CGI.:cool:

A close second would be Twelve O'Clock High (dispite my love for Gregory Peck), again with a German and American point of view, as in Battle of Britain.

I also would really like a daylight bombing movie focusing equally on the bomber and escort crews, which they haven't really done before.

True Romance was a great little movie but very violent.Christian Slater,Patrica Arquette,James Gandofini were all in it.Gary Oldman played a great part as a drug pusher but wasn't in it very long.Check it out.
