Paul, formerly of ANI Toy Soldiers, has listed a number of HM of GB sets recently on eBay. The first two are: Set 1, OFS10G1, Saving the Guns-Maiwand, 1880, Gun & Limber, All Aboard! and Set 2, OFS10G2, Saving the Guns-Maiwand, 1880, Gun & Limber at the Gallop.

Here are the next two sets in this vignette. Set 3, OFS10G3A, Saving the Guns-Maiwand, 1880, Gun in Action and Set 4, OFS10L4, Saving the Guns-Maiwand, 1880, Wagon, Limber and Team. I a not sure if Set 4 is correct since I see two limbers, but no wagon.

Here is the fifth and final set from this vignette that was posted on eBay. I do not know if there should be more sets or not. This unnumbered add-on set is Saving the Guns-Maiwand, 1880, Captain Slade, Trumpeter & Gunners.

Set 4 iscorrect, if you take another look you'll see that the limber has a pole, to which the horse or attached , where as the ammunition wagon has a fitting with an "eye" like the gun.

Thanks Martin, I see what you are refering to. I guess I was picturing a four-wheel wagon of some sort. Great sets, by the way. I believe they were originally purchased in about 1994 at the West Coaster Show from the original owner of Toy Troops in Huntington Beach, California. I remember seeing a lot of HM of GB sets there at that time and I even bought some of the sets myself. About a year later, I traded them back to Bill Muessing, the new owner of Toy Troops, for Trophy of Wales Zulu War and Sudan War sets.

Here is another set offered by Paul on eBay. It is Set 3 -with Drummer, OFS4D, Line Infantry, 1880-1890, Form Square!

Two more HM of Great Britain sets are on eBay: 1) set OFS3HO 72nd Highlanders with Officer and 2) set OFS3LP 72nd Highlanders with Piper. Note how much larger the officer is compared to the other figures.

Just saw this HM of Great Britain set on eBay. It is set WF3 Sudanese Rebels (Mahdists) 1884-98. The asking price is $65. Say, is it just me or have we seen a recent influx of HM of Great Britain sets on eBay. I don't recall seeing so many in such a short period of time. Prior to this, you rarely saw them at all.

Clive Gande purchased the entire Saving the Guns at Maiwand multi-box set with all the add ons from Matt Murphy at the OTSN, and Hans Hedrich got a magnificent 18 figure 6 mule mountain gun set as well as a Guards Camel Corps Camel patrol with screw gun set, also from Matt. Really great looking sets!:smile2:

Louis,

Do you know what Matt was selling Saving the Guns for? If my memory serves me correctly, I believe they were asking $1250 on eBay for four sets without the add-ons.

Sorry, Mike, I don't know about the price, just that they bought the sets.

Here is what the Charge of the Scots Greys and Gordon Highlanders looks like in their four boxes.

Thanks Mike for showing pictures and explaining the HM sets. I did see what Hobby Bunker had on display at the show. Neat figures. John

Yes - very nice to see some nicely made TS in their boxes. Would have been even nicer though, if we could have seen them OUT of their boxes - which hides most of the figures - and correctly set up on display. ( I note that there are several clip on bits and bobs to assemble - or get lost - with this marque). Still - if they aren't yours to show - it's better than not seeing them at all, I s'pose. jb

It is my pleasure John. They are neat figures done in interesting sets.

Sorry JB, I got those photos off of eBay---they aren't mine. If you want to see them out of their boxes, you will have to bid $1200! However, on post #30, there are three photos of them out of their boxes in Ed Ruby's collection. Unfortunately, you really can't see the Gordons all that well and they are the most interesting sculpts in the set.
