How many out there... (1 Viewer)

Amazing 28mm dioramas! Thanks for posting... There are alternatives to 54mm for those wanting to get into the hobby but, have to watch the budget... {eek3}

Thats true to a point but its still very easy to spend a few thousand on 28mm depending on how many troops one wants to build up.
For example a $40 60mm factory painted might work out to be the same cost as 20-25 28mm unpainted metal castings.
But 20 or so miniatures on a good size table does not look like much at all so you need to buy more...and then some more.

True Rob. Also finding figures AVAILABLE is not nearly as expensive or difficult to find.
For example My 54mm Waterloo British Allies remain weak. There is simply next to nothing available in 54mm .In abundance in 28mm, which led me back to that scale where it looks like I'll stay for My Napoleonic and Ancient armies.

For 54mm Waterloo British Allies check out ATS website. ATS are the producers of the largest range of Napoleonics in the world, a truly massive list. Trooper

Cheers Mitch....It was watching Waterloo as a kid and seing those British troops massed in square's.

Nice seeing you forming your square Rob and got a hunch it's only the beginning of it.

Yes indeed Rob.Some fun. Now the Brits are in a nice square, I can bring in my French Horse artillery behind your Cavalry.
I find myself pretty solid back in the 28mm arena.Still collect some 54mm here and there but TOO many excellent28mm figs available.Have 4 30 fig Battalions of Perry and Victrix British Line all assembled for KGL battalions.Sharpe and his rifles { all metal Perry, Front Rank and Old Glory x 40 total} cleaned and primed. Now I have to just paint them.
It was a real hoot using parts between the 2 plastic manufacturer's, LOTS of really neat poses.
Splendid Job partner!Keep painting and show us more!
Heres those Perry Prussian Fusiliers

Fubar do have lots more painted just have to base them plus i need to paint up plenty of casualty figs to pile up inside the square {eek3}.
I realy like the Perry KGL troops and Dutch just splendid,I was looking at OLD GLORY Naps myself i like the look of there cavalry sets but not sure if there horses are smaller then the Perry's?.
Your Prussians are great Harold and looking forward to seing your brits on the table when you get them ready to roll.
I just painted a Foundry Sir Roland Hill got him as a bonus in a bunch of infantry will take a little pic of him.

Yep pretty much all Foundry there Harold plus a couple of Victrix plastics but the foundry ones are the real gems.
They are realy nice castings i did manage to get some off a seller on Ebay at a decent price dont think i would buy straight from foundry there prices are just crazy.
Which is a real shame as they have a fantastic range and i think the Perry Brothers sculpted a lot of there older sets.
I might get a few FRONT RANKS and se how they fit in {the kneeling pose}....I need to place an order with them anyway as i want to get a bunch of them SCOTS GREYS with the Bearskins.

Careful, The front Rank guys are BIGGER than Foundry, Like a KC fig next to a Britain's so it is rather noticeable .I just wouldnt buy with the intention of mixing the 2 in the same unit. Front Rank are awesome and take paint very well.I agree , Foundry is not a bargain at $3.25 a foot fig. There is 2 packs I want{ French Fusiliers advancing under fire and Young Guard skrimishing} but can't get over the sticker shock.
Funny you should mention the Greys. I just assembled 18 of the Perry this very evening.

Thanks for the heads up,trying to avoid any oversize, did not relize they were that much bigger.
I prefer the style of Perry's and Foundry's anyway also some of the OldGlory stuff looks ok.
18 Greys now thats a good start.
