Have just watched 'The true glory' very good docu following the War from D Day to the surrender of Germany from the viewpoint and in the words of British,American and French soldiers,sailors and airmen. Am now watching 'The one that Got away' with Hardy Kruger.

Just watched the 'one that got away' great film and, just finished 'the man that never was' enjoyed that very much.

Watched battle of britain quite a few times in the last few weeks and will watch it today at some point.

Have been watching a few george formby films over the last few weeks

He went through all that and only lived another seven months, if he hadn't bothered he could have had a few years in the beautiful Lake District and then a Long and happy life!.

So no Luftwaffe Pilot escaped from Britain,is that correct?. Our film Hero escaped in Canada not Britain.

Just goes to show that on both sides there were officers etc that would rather lose their lives and do their duty than sit and see it out. Regardless of opinion I take my hat of to them for wanting to seve their countries

Yes quite true. He could have sat out the war in comfort but had a real desire to do his duty for his country, you have to admire that. Actually he was lucky to survive exposure both in Canada and out in the Lake district wasn't he.

SUCH A GOOD FILM! Got to be my favourite war film of them all.

I managed to tape Heroes of Biggin Hill the first time round but havn't seen it yet, but all the other docus in Yesterdays 1940 series are on next week and I havn't seen those yet.

Yes indeed, BBC1,2,4, ITV,Yesterday are all showing docus, not seen any for History channel yet though.

Watched hero's of telemark yesterday , what a great film + true ,will need to buy The Real Heroes of Telemark: The True Story of the Secret Mission to Stop Hitler's Atomic Bomb by Ray Mears
