Tourist's from the Nile River boat "Karnak" are awe struck with the enormity of the Pharaoh's Monument and the monument to the Goddess Bastet. The Goddess Bastet was the protector of the home, guarding against evil spirits, and disease. She is buttociated with the Eye of Ra, a symbol of protection and the Sun God's all seeing power. She was often depicted as a cat.

It really is a nice piece. I got from Summit Collection Gifts #Y8446, "Sandstone Bastet". It's actually a small box with a removable lid, but it's a perfect size for a monument feature. Summit is having a Memorial Day sell through Monday. Everything was 20% off and with free shipping.

Much shot in Egypt of the early fifties, (when the Temple of Isis was half submerged) Set in around 1900.
