Good evening all,

As a recent arrival I thought I should write a few lines of introduction and offer my kind regards to the veterans already here. My name is Geoff and I am a forty-eight year old father of two and high school teacher who lives in Sydney, Australia.

I am a convert to 'Toy Soldiers' as an extension of my interests in aviation, World War II and especially the 'Battle of Britain'. For the last seven years I have collected die-cast aircraft and World War II RAF. You will all understand what an addiction this can be so I recently downsized and I have moved slightly sideways having been enticed by the excellent RAF range produced by King and Country. One thing has inevitably led to another and I have branched out to include a modest selection of prominent Axis and Allied personalities as well as now looking closely at late war, Fall of Berlin subjects. I have my eye on a Soviet T34! My local shop also has a fantastic display of Australian Light Horse that whisper to me in my sleep: "Buy me. Buy me..." So... I'm doomed.

I hope that you will find me to be an articulate and agreeable comrade here and I look forward to making new friends in due course.

... And before you ask, the wally in my avatar is actually me. Sad I know. I picked-up the Irvin flying jacket and helmet on a recent trip to the UK. I also managed to get around Europe and see some great WWII sites. Check out my picture quiz elsewhere on the boards.

It's a pleasure to meet you all.

Regards,

Geoff

Here I am in Berlin in March.

Welcome aboard!! You must be a regular at Peter Nathans store I take it.

Welcome to the forum, Geoff. And, yes, we are all doomed with regards to this addic...uh, hobby.^&grin -- Al

Thanks for all your good wishes.

Ludwig, yes, I work near Peter Nathan's and must force myself not to pop in every day. :redface2:

That is very good indeed. I however in my USA homes for some of the year do not live near a store and have to order most things or buy on like Ebay sites. The nearest Toy soldier store is over three hours from me unless I am up at the cottage.

I have not been to Sydney since the 80's unfortunately. I would come back someday. Some of the most friendly folks in the world.

Ludwig

welcome to the forum. Would like to see some pics of Peters store as there are not many posted on here if you get chance

Once again a very warm welcome Geoff, great to have another Battle of Britain fan here on the forum, and with yesterday's bumper release from K&C you couldn't have picked a better time!

Look forward to chatting more with you re Battle of Britain and a variety of other subjects

Cheers

Rob

Welcome to the forum Geoff.
Pay no attention to the Westerners and watch out for the guys from Melbourne and Darwin {sm4}. However the one guy from SA seems quite a nice guy ^&grin

Welcome aboard Geoff!:smile2: I am also a big fan of the WWII airwar, and know how addictive collecting warbirds can be. I hope you enjoy the forum as much as I have over the years.

Speaking of which, those New South Welshmen were hoping for a nice change in the recent State of Origin Series, but the naughty boys from the North beat them again :wink2:
