Hi guy's is it just me or are your attentions turning towards Figarti tanks and figures. It seems that they are stepping out there and doing what others aren't doing. I only have been collecting K&C but have one Figarti tank and figures. I feel the draw towards them more and more. We do live in the age of plenty. Simmo.:D

Simmo,

They have caught my attention. I pretty new to this, but Figarti has struck a chord with me. With all the choice out there, I have found myself concentrating on Figarti releases recently. Probably because of the limited nature of the releases. The downside is, if you like it and want it for your collection, you have to get in pretty quick. Cheers, Alby

Simpson & his donkey...

Could you post a pic with Figarti and its equivalent from other makers?
Thank you
Mitch

I'm not sure that's possible as the Figarti areas where there may be overlap with K & C are retired. The one person who may oblige is Rob with the Firefly and Louis as he has many Figarti tanks.

Figarti is doing the meat & potatos, and I really like their Allied paint jobs. American Shermans, the Firefly, JS2, JSU-152, and I like the sculpts/poses of the Brits released with the Firefly.

And I never get disappointed with Figarti the way I do K&C. Even when releases are made which do not appeal to me, I still enjoy looking at them. Such as the DDAY engineer vehicles or Pacific Marines. That recent Brit howitzer & truck were really nice surprises. I'll probably even get those.

With K&C it's just one disappointment after another. Some of the stuff is just so obscure I feel like hitting my head against the wall. That grey police armored car for example, would have been great as a supplement IF the essentials had been made; for example a grey Hanomag 251 troop carrier, a grey 222 armored car (the DAK sold out in a flash), grey Opel, etc. And then to release the 88 self propelled halftrack as Normandy (still sitting on shelves) when it could have been a show stopper in grey for the FOB range. A Panhard armored car, obscure. A yellow recon PzI, obscure. They have 2 nice Pz III tanks which would be lovely in other colors...the IIIH in grey, and the IIIJ in DAK. We will see if & when. I think with K&C it's the obscure/eccentric stuff that is really killing me. It's one thing to have a slow conservative schedule of releases. But to see wasted time & treasure is just mind numbing.

There isn't much overlap.

The Figarti Panzer IVs (AK and winter)
Ground Stuka (SdKfz 25x)
Prime Movers
Shermans

These are ones I could compare. But what am I comparing?

As for halftracks and Fireflies and 105 mm howitzers, jeeps, I can't compare. What else is there they have recently made in 1:30?

Terry

Blow Torch, that KC police armoured car is one of my favorites, but like you said I prefer more mainstream armour, as one would see in a major battle. That being said and being on the Figarti section, I have the Flakverling which is awesome and I encourage others to get it.

Guys,
Just seen this thread so happy to offer assistance.
Brad, I'm deeply hurt,:D
You seem to have forgotten that yours truly is a collector as much if not more than a distributor.
So, Mitch if you want to do a comparison between any of the K&C models and comparative Figarti models you're more than welcome to come down to Essex and see them in the flesh.
As a Yorkshireman by birth I'm also happy to drop by with various wares when I'm next back in God's Country.;)
Regards
Clive

At Battle Scene Productions we have worked with just about every manufacturers products. Who products are best, is quite subjective. But if you asked us, we would say Figarti is hard to beat, if you like that gritty realistic look. That is what Battle Scene Productions is all about, so it is just our opinion.

We have a huge project coming out in the near future, which will make use of just about every manufacturers products. Besides entertainment, its purpose is to contrast the different manufacturers products, so the Collector will have a better idea as to which products they prefer to purchase....Stay Tuned....Alex

I agree, I do like Normandy coloration but not on vehicles used in early WWII, they just look wrong

Figarti also came out with a Lee Tank and Priests, K&C made these a very long time ago, they are actually 2 of the most sought after K&C Pieces. K&C's Priest is just a timeless classic and the Lee tank came with a Humphrey Bogart Figure.

Now, there is also a 1 of 1 K&C Monty Command Grant tank that I own, Figarti also did this piece.

Before eveyrone goes nuts, I had an old K&C Lee tank converted to a Grant, repainted as Monty's command tank, then had a Monty figure converted to a half body. All done by board member Alexdakar. Truth be told, ALex did such a good job, I guarantee if you put it back in the K&C box, slapped the number
DD24A on the side with a LTD number on it, you could fool most collectors!

There are also the LRDGs; the K & Cs have a newish look while the Figartis are battle worn.

Regarding the Priests, I have both but prefer the Figarti one, probably because it's desert.

I share your disappointment:eek:....Many great opportunities....not capitalized on.....Someday maybe.....In the meantime Figarti has been on the move, the Flakverling is a great product.....JS-2 also really well done......Also picked up the Soviet Anti-tank gun with grew, nicely done.
