I've seen the future of toy soldiers and it's called first legion. Or not? (2 Viewers)

Re: DAK002-DAK009 Panzer III's and Infantry Pre-Order

Okay, I lied: I didn't buy four. I went to the Secaucus show today and saw George and bought eight. No, that is not a typo. Eight it was. I don't have any proper mats yet but will try to get one soon and take a photo of the North Carolinians attacking.

Hopefully Union will be out in the not too distant future.

I think I've come to the point in collecting where maybe less is more :)

Do you mean 8 is less than 4 ^&confuse or are you going for higher quality? Amazing how you lawyers ... ^&grin

What I meant by focusing on a smaller number of figures, it's a bit more satisfying.

Let me give you an example from my Cd collection. Up until a couple of years ago, I was always buying new jazz Cds to listen to and either I never had enough time to listen to all the new ones (I once had a backlog of 50 or 60) or I listened once and it was then onto the next one with no time to listen to what I already had. I cut back drastically on the number of Cds I purchased, with the result that I now have the time to listen to the ones I haven't listened to the ones in five or so years.

Hopefully, the analogy makes sense.

I'm doing the same with my diecast aircraft and toy soldier collecting. Cutting back to the ones I really want. Less is more

Brad,

Looking forward to the photos and congrats on your latest “bulk” purchase.
I think this is a tremendous range and I am looking forward to future releases. I like the 55th NC lads and the fact they really can be utilised in numerous Confederate scenes, and that the release isn’t too unit specific. So far I have ACW 01, 08 & 11 and with ACW05 & 15 inbound. I am taking a slow approach, and really appreciate each figure when it arrives … I definitely think less is more sometimes. Cheers,

Alby

I dont understand this THREAD what has buying soldiers got to do with the Question???The deleted post where more to do with the question!!Maybe the "Or not" should be removed and the Thread called "I've seen the future of toy soldiers and it's called first legion".

Hey gang-

I try my darndest to stay off the computer over the weekends, vacation days, etc as I hate these things to the core. Anyway, I came on real quick on Saturday to check the westcoaster reports and quickly read some of the posts on this forum (and this thread was one of them) without reading them too much in depth. Shame on me as I took someones post- Mitch I think- woefully out of context. Terribly sorry for all the confusion and chaos this incited. I especially apologize to K&C for bringin up an issue which seems to provoke a lot of strong opinions. I wish KC all the best success in the future.

Thank you to all the spirited pms/emails I have received over the past 24 hours regarding this issue. I didn't realize I had become a defacto champion to some of you and absolute nuisance to the rest of you- I believe "ego-elitist snit" was perhaps my favorite description I received. ^&grin

You fellas take it easy and enjoy your hobby. I'm out of my depths here.

I wouldn't think so Joe; at least not until they can match FL in action and scope of releases, not to mention price.;)
