JJ Collectors Club (3 Viewers)

COMBAT. I was speaking to my dealer in QUEBEC and he said JOHN was going to his shop on 24 oct. and he was to reveal his new line and show picture of set NO.2 set. IT looks like he must have a good demand for his NO. 1 set. HAVE A GOOD DAY.

Anyone know when the Halkett (or is it Halket) club figure will ship out? Or even if there were enough orders to produce it? I assume there were. John's website indicates he will announce on Nov. 6 how many will be produced.

I received my original membership figure (Jenkins) order on 9/27/2009.

It was my understanding that 4 club sets would be issued a year...one each quarter I assumed.

I would therefore assume it would be delivered around 12/27/2009.

I believe the final pre-order day was October 31, a Saturday...so they probably had to correspond by email the final numbers to John for production.

I'm sure it was or will be produced...

as you stated on his site....

"The Limited Edition Number of this set will be announced on the 6th November 2009"...

which is tomorrow.

I seem to remember someone saying 150 is about the break even point.

I'm guessing 400-450 will be produced by pre-order...anybody got a guess?

I hope they made mine....hahaha.

This Collectors club i think it is a great idea.I am thinking to join in,but can anyone tell me is there any catalogue,flyers,magazines,....to include in this collectors club like WBritain, they give you also a catalogue,standard(magazine),....when you join in.Is there anything like that too,or it is just figures and sets?

Now that is a specific answer! Thanks again Mike. I was hoping it would be sooner as they are sculpted and John will know how many orders he has by now. I'm guessing maybe 200-300 as this is a one shot deal. That is based on a normal production run of about 350 for most personality figures which are available for much longer periods. Guess we find out shortly. :) Also hoping Langy is in the next batch of December releases.

I am with mike and doug i want all my j.jenkins personality figures i really enjoy his work. I have preordered all his personality figures not even seeing them.....Out of the last 3 sets he has not let me down. Keep on trucking JOHN we are behind you,

"You pays yer' money and you takes yer' choice"

To me it is simple as that, I don't believe for one moment this a cunning plan hatched by JJ to fleece us of our hard earned cash. No, if anything he is supplying our demand for the unique amongst those brethren that collect his many ranges.

I'm sure like many other JJD collectors that the announcement of a collectors club and images of the first figures created quite a stir and no doubt some awe - well it certainly did for me. I always look forward to receiving news on new releases especially John's work - somewhat excitedly like a school kid. If the Club enables another stream of figures to be produced so be it, I love the buzz.

Lets not get upset, nor react to perceived inflammatory posts - at the end of the day we collect toy soldiers, and I for one love collecting JJD. When/if I ever fall out of love with 60mm lovingly painted sculptered bits of metal I'll just exercise my right not to buy or perhaps not to criticise- simple.

I can't tell you how personally I'm pleased with the two new collector's club figures.

Thinking that John was finished with Monongahela...I'm glad to have two new sets for that conflict.

Capitol Ron had mentioned some time ago...that at the symposium a year ago...John was bombarded with requests for more B of M.

Several months ago, we had spoken via email...and John confirmed there was still a large interest in it....and told me he may have to make more figures to appease the collectors.

I hope he makes some more suitable for B of M.

Thank you all for your participation on the board-let's get back to discussing toy soldiers.

And mine! You were fairly close Mike. According to John's website the production number is......376.
Which is more than the original BM sets (BM01-02, 250 sets). Will be with dealers by the end of Jan 2010.

Wow Pete....376...that's a big number...especially to a series that started with 250 releases as you say...I'm impressed.

I agree totally Mike. I think that say's something about the current popularity of JJD. Three years ago 250 to anybody, now 376 only pre order! No sitting on shelves, straight to collectors.
Roll on set #2! (Which I presume will be with dealers in April 2010)

Yeah when you see that many it makes you want to get those sets with 350 sets right away.

It'll be interesting to see if any end up on EBAY! I'm sure some will (not from me I hasten to add!)

That really is a big number...

when you compare the production of 376 of a new piece...

that is to a retired series with an issuance of:

BM01-LE250
BM02-LE250
BM03-LE250
BM04-LE500
BM05-LE500
BM06-LE250
BM07-LE350
BM08-LE350
BM09-LE350
BM10-LE350

it's obvious that there were not 376 people collecting this series to start with.

John's fan base must be increasing.:D

I assume some of these will be duplicate orders, but even so there must be at least 300+ collectors out there! I count myself as one of the original '250' (Was that a TV series?). Wish I'd bought more than one of each (oh hindsight!)

I think Halkett and son was a good choice for the first collector's piece...

a good decision by John.

It has historical significance,

it's small yet poignant, even touching,

it will make a good small vignette, even standing alone,

it's relevant to B of M collectors, and FIW collectors,

and it's well done,

How does this match up to other manufacturers collector figures in sales?

Does anybody know?

This would make a good little diorama placed on Braddock's Road with a couple of Indians around them.
