JJD 2024 Advent Calendar Sketches (3 Viewers)

The Maratha gunner was a pleasant surprise. I'm looking forward to adding the gun and detachment to my collection.

Brendan
I've got a space on my shelf already cleared for this gun and detachment, so hopefully it will be released in the coming year, and not just be a 'thought bubble' !!!

Guns and gunners, just what I LOVE !!!

John

I was hoping to see other themes with the 2nd wave of sketches... notably the ancient, not very present at the moment..
apart from the Mitannian chariot which will illustrate a new ally in Qadesh, it is clear that there is rather a continuity of certain very British themes...
I hope to see a Cheyenne fighting on foot and on horseback, a slightly more fleshed out Egyptian infantry, a Sioux teepee, pioneers on a wagon, a trade raft with trappers which could enrich the ''fur trade'' theme or that of ''thunder on the plains'' and the fort of ''fur trade'' , I missed it!

You are dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. Some collectors want variety and some complain ranges are not finished or filled out enough.

Let's rejoice in all the wonderful pre Christmas sketches and look forward to all the fantastic figures to be released next year.

Happy Christmas to all and I hope your collections are enhanced in 2025.

Ooh lala. Now you are talking John Jenkins. Maybe we will get some Campanians and Ligurians as well. I would love some Campanian cavalry

If John develops the Samnites seriously, the figures should be incredible...
This army has a breathtaking aesthetic!
Cavalry and infantry display beautiful armor, helmets and shields...
Personally, I would happily embark on this new theme...
The sketch presents a very interesting Samnite warrior but, for the moment, well below what this little-known army can offer and yet so important in the history of Rome!

I was considering getting First Legion or Team Minuatures gladiators but I will wait and see how quickly John's come out.
