The standing figure on the right holding a pipe is the representative figure of my grandfather inspired by a photo of him that I shared with John for his research on the American Army Engineers . . . . Wow! Am I ever excited about this upcoming release . . . . .

Thought I would share the two photos that were used for the Mack Truck and the US Army Engineers prototype sculpts . . . . John and I both agreed that the Army Engineer work coveralls weren't very "sexy" looking, but coveralls were what were worn while performing their work duties while driving supply trucks and building supply depots, hospitals, roads, railroads, bridges, port facilities, et al.

Thanks Julie. And thanks for taking the trouble to take and post the pictures....Really appreciated!

I don't suppose you noticed a FIW landing barge and crew on your travels? If you did, did you manage to clock the manufacturer?

Pete

Obviously if i am taking the photos I would not be in the photo of the Speed Bird we showed in the Treefrog Room - I will stick with as much anonymity as I can get - LOL

I think that draws this year's hunt to a close . . . . I do have quite a few more photos to edit and upload on other threads. Hopefully next year I can try this "Treasure Hunt" again with John Jenkins to include you all who are not able to attend and join in the fun of finding these in person.

As I am now much more rested I will begin the trek home in a bit!

Well Lads, we will certainly have to start saving our $$$$ now and perhaps even get crazy and expand our allowable budgets to get this "ginormous boat" (as julie describes it) with its full compliment of crew and passengers. I don't collect this range, however this is such a unique piece that I am seriously thinking about getting this one . . . I dare you to get two . . . .

Big YES on the barge launch. First question is "What regiment the figures will be painted for?".

Personally, I am hoping for the 60th as that regiment was unique in having 3 separate battalions, so elements of the 60th were nearly in every major engagement Ticonderoga, Quebec, Louisbourg. But I think it is more likely to be the 28th. Doubt the 47th as the famous mix up in uniforms --- the French captured the British ship carrying the 47th's uniforms, so they had to "borrow" the uniforms from another regiment for their campaign in Canada. Chance it will be the 35th.

Need to check the Osprey volumes on this and then rank the possibles by the SNAZZY factor.

Happy Boating!!!!

Mike,

Not that I am a rivet counter, but seems 24 soldiers plus 13 sailors to a barge. So 1 boat will be hold a section with 2 boats needed for a company and 3 boats for a "stuffed" company.

I always prefer stuffed company.

Any input on JJD's Wars of the Roses series?
Mounted Knights? Artillery?

Aha! The famous Guynemer Spad. Lucky man. :salute:: I've been looking for the production model of that aircraft for over 2 years. -- Al

There you go, Al!

Wonder when it will be released?
