June 2020 New Release: The Franco-Prussian War(1870-71) (2 Viewers)

These Team Miniatures Franco Prussian War figures will not disappoint. The sculpting and painting as well as historical accuracy are top notch.
Looking forward to see what else Team has in mind for this series.

I'm hoping we some cavalry and artillery soon . . . this series has tons of promise!:salute::

Yes, I agree. Just with the French alone, I'm hoping they make Cuirassiers, Chasseurs d'Afrique and Dragoons of the Guard, as well as Horse Artillery of the Guard.

Bismark and his Prussians arrived today, and are just as excellent as the Zouaves and the Bavarians! :salute:: Once I get them out on the (in progress) diorama, I will have my son take some photos and post them. I lo0ok forward to the arrival of Napoleon III and his French regular infantry . . . not to mention Team's next announcement of a release for this series!

Vive la France - Some dashing Zouaves from Team Miniatures FPW series.

Hi Louis ,

Nice looking figures.

How do they look in person? from a distance several of the heads look exactly the same. I didn't think having grey hair and a grey beard was so prevalent in the Zouaves.

I don't think so, but were they like the French Old Guard units of Napoleons time with strict criteria to be in the unit? My knowledge is pretty limited with French troops from this time period.

Cheers Gebhard

Actually the faces are all different. The paint highlights in the hair do not appear grey in person, just in the photos for some reason. - Ken

Some more Team Miniatures Franco Prussian War figures. This time it's Bavarians.

Gebhard,

I agree with Ken's assessment, the Zouaves are all different, and are excellent figures, as are the Bavarians and Prussians. I am extremely pleased with Team's Franco Prussian War figures.:salute::

Thanks , From a distance it looks like the same face with grey beard & hair happy to hear its not. I bought some of the Bavarians which I really like, then along came a Walfisch & a limited BIG SALE pulled me back in and next thing I know I'm out of TS money. I really hope they are still around when I can get back to them.

I managed to pick up a real Franco-Prussian War Bavarian Raupenhelm from 1870 from a Militaria Dealer in Germany to add to my Franco-Prussian War display:

Just received a beautiful double book set on uniforms of the Franco Prussian War, published by Verlag Militaria.
Took three months for it to ship to the US, but well worth the wait.

Wow, terrific volumes!:salute:: Could you post a link to the website where you bought them?

Sure, no problem.

1st, Here is the publisher: Welcome to Verlag Militaria

I purchased through this dealer in UK: FRANCO-PRUSSIAN WAR 1870-71 Uniforms and Equipment of the German and French Armies - Naval & Military Press (naval-military-press.com)

And here's one more dealer in France: NEW - FRANCO-PRUSSIAN WAR 1870 - 1871, Uniforms and Equipment of the German and French Armies, by Markus Stein, Gerhard Bauer, Louis Delpérier, Laurent Mirouze & Christophe Pommier. (bertrand-malvaux.com)

Mine came from UK via Royal Mail Surface. Only about 16 Pounds Sterling for shipping, BUT SLOW (89 days). Very well packed. - Could not find a dealer for these books here in the US. - And one more thing, books are published in few different languages, so be sure you are ordering the English edition. - Ken

These books are also listed on E-Bay, out of France and Germany, although shipping is rather steep. -- Al
