Just got my 88!! (1 Viewer)

Those pics are great Rob. Thanks for posting. I missed out on this one but do have my first Figarti product preordered ( the Firefly ) and am very much looking forward too it. :)

Nice one rob! I am just waiting for my firefly hopefully soon.

The Firefly is awsome mate, you'll love it.

I predict an African and Normandy version, why not! This thing sold out faster than anything in memory.
Gary

I'd sign up for an AK version, with crew in overcoats would be good.

Thanks CFM,you'll be very glad you ordered it;)

Yes it would. Having been there, North Africa in the winter, especially near the coast is cold and damp. Cold enough for winter coats 24/7. It can even snow if the wind and humidity are just right. I have seen pictures of such coats on an 88 gun crew some where in my past.

I've seen pictures and film of 88 crews wearing the Long overcoat,i thought it would look a little different from the norm.In the shots they were also wearing their Caps.

For night action, I would agree since I think we all agree that it does get cold there at night. I'm just not sure how prevalent that was. In El Alamein, yes, other times, wouldn't think it would be as widespread.

Am watching 'Battlefield-El Alamein' and there is footage of AK Troops marching in daylight with their greatcoats on,they must have been better at keeping out wind and sand than the normal uniform.

Exactly right. I asked my neighbour who is from North Africa. He said the wind and sand can make a fierce combination and it can get damp and cold near the coast and even further inland, even during the day.

That very kind young man Chris Mckenna got me the Chicago figure from last years show. Its an excellent figure of a AK guard in this greatcoat,i think figures in action on the 88 in these greatcoats would be something different and look really good.

Here are a few of my pix to add to Rob's thread.
My 88 and Prime Mover are both numbered 17 of 100 which is pretty cool.
Great sets these - nothing more to add that the pictures don't say better.

Wow! The detail of these models in your close up photos are amazing.

Terry

Absolutely - i've got them here in front of me and the detail on them keeps catching my eye and spotting something different each time.
Figarti have an absolute winner on their hands here.

The Sd.Kfz.7 is just as impressive as the 88.

Keep the pictures coming guys.

Man, I just don't know what to say....does it get any better than this???? Congrats to Rob on yet another sterling acquisition, and to Figarti for another stellar achievment amongst many recent "homeruns"! :D We are indeed spolied w/ so many fantastic pieces to consider. Figarti is quite simply bowling me over. Thanks for the great pics Rob; I think I may even like the prime mover more than the 88, but they both appear to be the "best in class". Have fun! :D

Cheers Joe:)

And thanks to James for his pics. That prime mover is so cool, the detail on it and the 88 is amazing.
