JUST ... KING and COUNTRY American Revolution (1 Viewer)

Good story Larry, draws you in. Like the contrasting colours you use in the words. This series is very colourful to collect and you have some lovely accessories to compliment the figures, which only makes the scenes more enjoyable to view. Good on you for putting so much work into this story line. Whatever the outcome, at the end of the day you have a very nice collection of historic miniatures. Well done mate. Robin.

Thank you very much, Robin
I use the color text to give a clue to who is speaking ... if it is not already obvious.

Red for the British / Blue for the Colonial / Brown for the Indians ... as so forth, as we proceed.

It is a bit of work but very, very enjoyable. I hope the viewers are enjoying this as much as I am doing it ......{sm4}

CONTINUATION OF THE KING and COUNTRY - British 17th Dragoons.

The Continental Army's Rhode Island Regiment has set up encampment at a major cross roads. They don't know where General Cornwallis is; nor do they know where the general's reserve regiments might be. BUT they do know they will most likely pass this way.

Although not yet on Battle Status, they make themselves ready for what lays ahead.

Guards are posted and told to KEEP ALERT.

"I hate guard duty. My feet hurt."

"What did you say?"

"You heard me. And I'm hungry and thirsty. I could go for a pint right about now."

"Quiet! You want to alert the entire British Army we're here."

"Nawwww ... probably nobody with a 100 miles of here ..... wait, what's that running this way?????"

--- LaRRy (RI04)

"Halt! Right there! Who are you and what do you want?"

We are here on urgent matters. We must see General Benjamin Clark and I mean immediately.

Nobody gets to see the general, be off with you ....

LISTEN ... we have just seen the supply convoy headed to meet up with General Cornwallis. AND .. that column is manned by the 17th Dragoons.
Plus they have captured three of our friends and their wives. Please, we need to see General Clark .. NOW.

DRAGOONS! General Corwallis ......

LISTEN TO ME ... I say this once. The chances are good that the whole of the British Army is right behind me ... coming this way.
Now you can stand here like an idiot and we all get killed or you can get us to see General Clark.

Sargent, come quick, SARGENT ....

Sergeant, please three of our friends have been taken prisoner and we need help to .....

Sorry, gentlemen but we can not just pick up and go aid you in recovering your friends.

If we can just see General Clark, he'll understand the urgency of the situation. We have Dragoons supplying Cornwallis, the warrior Maguya has teamed up with a British relief column and ....

HOLD ON SERGEANT! I am General Clark tell me everything you know and give me DETAILS boys, DETAILS ...

Larry,

You make my day with each new installment! Fantastic!! Feels like I'm watching Turn or something.

You're doing an incredible job with this. I can't imagine how hard it must be to think of everything that goes into this but keep it going while your creative juices are flowing!

With the Rhode Island encampment moving swiftly to ready themselves for the upcoming actions, Tom and John seek out supplies.

"Hey John, over here, I've found some food and drink."

"Good thing since we've had nothing to eat or drink all day."

"Hey Sergeant, can you spare some power and shot. I'll be a thinking that we will probably need some before this day is out.

"Ahh .. sure, help yourself. Private, see that these men get what they need"

I'm going to try to catch a quick nap in one of these here tents, John"

Sounds like a good idea, Tom.
Hey you two, would someone come and get us in an hour.
Or sooner if something starts happening.....

Ya' sure thing ....

General Benjamin Clark meets with his staff and develops a two stage plan.

A small detachment will go out and reconnoiter the area in an effort to discover the whereabouts of the 17th Dragoon supply column or Generals Cornwallis's main body of British Infantry.

They are not to engage the enemy, but to lead them into a trap. Meanwhile the rest of Regiment will fortify the encampment. If they can't get them to give chase then a runner will report back so the Rhode Island Regiment can go out to meet them.

The two Militiamen are to be sent to find Allen's Militia, lurking somewhere just north of the encampment.

Riflemen man the redoubts ....

"I can't wait to get me one of those darn Redcoats"
"Easy, son. Is this your first battle?"
"Sure is, and I can't wait ... gonna' be something"
"Ya' thats what they all say, until the lead starts to fly. Then they're off like a terrified jack rabbits"

"I hope they lead them this way and we can cut them up like a rump roast"

--- LaRRy (RI14, RI15, RI 16)

"Gentlemen ... The Rhode Island Artillery will be making a statement today"
"I pray that it will be a proud one that you can tell your grandchildren about someday."

"NOW .. let's get to it men!"

"To you older men who have seen battle, no need to say anything to you. I KNOW you will do what is expected."

"To you younger ones, remember your training, listen to the commands given to you. DO NOT panic and stay at ease."
"All will work out for you today. God bless the Rhode Island Artillery!"

"GUNS MANNED and READY, SIR!!!

Continuation of a great story.

Just love the "Artillery" and "Riflemen" photos !

Excellent work.

Thank you !

Glad you enjoyed those Ivanhoe. If you like the Artillery pictures ... stay tuned ... since you haven't seen anything yet. I really enjoy the Artillery sets by K&C.
So, in a short time you will see proof of that ... ^&confuse

Guards at the entrances are told to keep a watchful eye and to report any movement or superstitious sounds.

As the detachment of troops who are sent to hunt out the enemy passes by, a soldier wishes he was going to do his part rather than stand guard ...:(

"Let's go Rhode Island, look alive there men. You men don't need me telling you what's about to happen so get a move on."

"I know you seen a bit of trouble Hodgekins, but we will be needing you to keep our colors waving proudly. Inspiration and all that you know."

"You can count on me Sergeant."

"I can count on ALL these fine young men Hodgekins."

--- LaRRY (RI26, RI27)

"Orders of the day men ... hunt out and locate the enemy. We are NOT to engage unless we are fired upon first."
"Our mission is Intelligence, NOT combative .... IS THAT UNDERSTOOD"

"Yes, Sir"

"THEN RHODE ISLAND ... Move Out!"

--- LaRRy (RI28, RI29, RI30)

Dear LaRRy,

do you work round the clock? You have got to sort out everything at the same time. That’s a rare quality and I admire you for it and for keeping your promise.
Thanks for taking your time to meet us on this.

Best regards :smile2:

Enrico :)

P.s. : as always, terrific pictures!!! :rolleyes2:
