JUST ... KING and COUNTRY American Revolution (2 Viewers)

quite a labor of love Larry...
even though it's work...
I'm sure you are enjoying yourself while getting to play with your collection for a bit...
the thread is pretty cool...
definitely enjoying it...

Thanks Mike ... and believe me when I say I picked up some good tips from your work ...:salute::
The next chapter (so to speak) will see us returning to the Colonial prisoners to see what is happening with them and their women folk.

... jeepers, SIR, did you send the heat and humidity up here to MAINE. {sm2}
My thermometer is topping out at 96 and humidity is 10,000% {eek3}

I got out real early this AM, (well early for me now that I am retired) and wanted to tidy up the lawns and gardens.
Less than 20 min later I was calling it a day. I'll wait until later when the sun drops below my barns.

Later,

Evening Mark.

I have a lot planned so don't worry about running out of ideas or scenes.
We will be visiting an Indian Village soon and a new set of K&C AWI figures will be arriving.
As I told Duke (wwiibuff) below, there are a lot of sets that are anxious to make an appearance.

But first, we need to get back the our Patriot prisoners and see what happening with them, and of course their ladies. {sm4}

Stay tuned,
--- LaRRy

Hi LaRRy,

you have impressed me again!:eek: You have done very great work!:rolleyes: Sometimes, l don't have words to explain what l think. I’ll try do to it. I prefer to focus on what has happened behind the lines. Those scenes bring out the other side of war. Most of the time is dedicated to the preparation of military actions. Keep it up, please!!! Thanks a lot for sharing with us.:rolleyes2:

Best regards

Enrico:)

P.s. : I'll stay tuned!!!

Good Morning Enrico,
As you have undoubtedly noticed, I also (mostly) have made scenes that do not show combat.

Shortly, we WILL have a series of engagements as the story progresses, but as you mentioned and Andy (K&C) has pointed out many times, combat is only a small percentage of the time in the life of a soldier. I am working on the next set of pictures and the next diorama, as well as the story line. Hopefully we will see the next installment in a day or two.

Have fun Enrico,

THE DRAGOON SAGA Continues .....

The first shots have been fired and the Rhode Island Colonial soldiers have lost a friend. {sm2}

The RI officer in charge has sent two runners back to the RI encampment to inform General Benjamin Clark of the attack by a 17th Dragoon scout.

They are also to inform him of their intention to remain in the area and acquire intelligence and locate the enemy
.

"Come on Robert, pick up the pace. We need to get back as soon as possible."

"I am moving as fast as my wobbly legs permit, Samuel. Go on without me if you must."

"No, Robert, I won't be a leaving you here in this God forsaken, hostile land."

"Thank you, you are a true friend."

"Aye, tis' true ... but Robert we both may be DEAD friends if the darn British finds us, or the blasted Loyalist troops ... or worse yet the Heathens that live in these treacherous woods"

"I do believe that is a bit of inspiration that I needed ..move on Samuel, move on."

"Are you sure this is the correct trail back to the camp."

"Yes ... well ... I am fairly sure. We are headed in the right direction, of that I am sure, but maybe a wee bit off of the trail we came out upon."

"I have confidence in you Samuel. Lead on."

--- LaRRY (RIST28)

"Yes, this is the correct way, I remember these landmarks of to the left."

"Yes, yes. I see it now. We are not to far away now. Thank God. I will take the point, Samuel."

"Go with caution, Robert. Remember my words."

"There is the trail marker, over there on the left."

"Got it."

"Finally, it will be good to ...... OH NO! Samuel, look, up on the rise. Is that .... is that a ...."

--- LaRRY (RIST29, RIST30)

STOP RIGHT THERE, BOYS!

"WHO the darn are you? Let us pass, let us pass, I say, IMMEDIATELY."

"We are on a mission from General Clark and ....."

"SAY NOTHING, Robert. NOT A WORD! So you think you can prevent BOTH of us from going on?
Just you? Ha."

"Well me, and a few of my closest friends ... like ...

... like ME. Over here, my Colonial Army, friends. Behind you!

.... like US. On this side of you. I guess in all your haste you must have passed us by without a notice.

--- LaRRy (RIST31, RIST32, RIST33)

"Now keep calm gentlemen. It is a blessing that we came upon you before you traveled much further.
Only a short distance down that trail is a traitorous gang of The King's men and their treacherous rabble of Loyalists"

"My name is Allen and I have the pleasure of leading these fine Patriots in the cause of Freedom!"
"We have been looking for you and your column sent out by General Clark."

--- LaRRy (RIST34)

Say what? I pray that you tells us how you have come about such information, Sir."

"Time is short so I will leave out many details, but .... "

"Three of our band came upon a Column of the King's 17th Dragoon's. They had taken prisoners of friends, fellows Colonial Soldiers and their women folk."

"Two of them, John and Tom, went to your encampment to try to enlist the aid of the General and his troops ... er, ... YOU fellows."

"The third one, Nathan, came to warn us and add that Maguya and his small band where also aligned with the British Army Regulars, who were following close behind the Dragoons."

"Yes, that is all correct, as I met those two you mentioned."
"I must now add that our small detachment have encountered one of the 17th Dragoons."
"I regret to inform you that one of yours was killed."
"A fine fellow named Zachariah."

"With respect, he was not one of mine. I did know him and YES he was a very fine gentleman and a loyal Patriot."
"God rest his soul."

If that's the case I'm staying tuned in, this is exciting!{sm4}

I do hope K&C have some reinforcements on the way........

NOTE: Here is the view of the layout for this segment.
Although not part of the story (per se), I wanted you to see the diorama .. just for fun.

Certainly assists Larry when you have a vast terrain to work with. Can see the bigger picture now. Ready when you are for the next chapter. Robin.

I got myself a set of those "photo umbrellas" but not sure what type of light bulb to use. That is why I took two shots.
I somewhat prefer the TOP shot, but maybe that is just me.

Any advise from the GREAT DIORAMA MAKERS on lighting? :confused:

--- LaRRy ... okay now on with the story.

Larry - what is there to say....You just keep knocking it out of the park!!!

For me Larry, I like bright, so every chance I use natural sun light. That said I find direct sun light does not agree with my camera, so it's all about making the room as light as possible and positioning near to a window. Always looking to bring out the richness of colour that so many figures have, particularly in this series you have here. Crisp clear shots I think is the go, that are well lit. Years ago when I only had a fairly dark dining room to work with before my man cave, I was using a pair of flood lights which worked well, but a pain to set up and position and pack away after every photo shoot. Your photos are coming out fine by the way. Robin
