JUST ... KING and COUNTRY American Revolution (1 Viewer)

Dear LaRRy,

do you work round the clock? You have got to sort out everything at the same time. That’s a rare quality and I admire you for it and for keeping your promise.
Thanks for taking your time to meet us on this.

Best regards :smile2:

Enrico :)

P.s. : as always, terrific pictures!!! :rolleyes2:

GOOD AFTERNOON Enrico ... {sm4} You are a funny guy , my friend. Once again, thank you.
But NO, I don't work all the time on the diorama / story line.

Just 23 hours and 45 minutes a day ... {sm3} {sm3}

But seriously, I have learned a lot from the many superlative diorama builders on this forum and plan what I have to do a few stages in advance.
That way I can make a scene and then photograph it and save the photos until later when I need them again.

You will see the next diorama very soon, maybe tomorrow or Tuesday which will be leading up to a major ...... ( {eek3} oops , I almost gave away the next big event.)
I guess you'll just have to stay tuned to see what is going to happen ....

Glad you are enjoying the story folks,

The King and Country AWI Dragoons saga continues .....

After the Rhode Island Regiment was informed by the Colonial Militia that the British were reconnoitering the countryside, a small detachment was sent out to gather intelligence.

This detachment forced marched for over one hour, before coming into the Stoddard Meadows Farm
.

"Sergeant, post guards forward of our position and to the flank. Inform the men that we will be taking a quick half hour rest before moving out."

"Yes, Sir, right away."

"Oh yes, Sergeant, send that Militia scout with the forward guards, to see if he can pick up any indication of troop movement through here recently."

"Post half the men on one side of the clearing and the other half over there, by that wall."

"Yes, Sir."

"You three move forward and watch the road ... and you three ... have the joy of being rear guard.
Move it gentlemen"

Larry

Your encampment is absolutely stunning and like being there during the war.

Randy

"Hey Militia, what is your name."

"My name is Zachariah, but just call me Zach."

"Okay, Zach, what are we looking for ... besides Lobsterbacks that is?"

"Signs of troops movements; broken branches, something they dropped, wagon tracks, things like that."

"I don't see much .... looks kinda' quite. I don't reckon much as passed this way in a while. At least no big troop movement. Possibly some of the Stoddard's cows maybe?"

"Ya, I agree. Little has been this way since the last rain, about 4 days past."

--- LaRRy (RIST05, RIST06)

"Do not get to comfortable, gentlemen. We just need to make sure what is up ahead and then we are moving out.
But rest here while you can."

"ONLY one hour and my feet are killing me. Marching is not my cup of tea."

"Then Aaron, you should have been born to noble blood."

"Thank you for your sympathy, Isaac, I'll remember that when you need some tobacco later."

--- LaRRy (RIST07, RIST08)

"What is the matter, Zach, you look uncomfortable. See something you shouldn't?"

"No, actually the opposite. I'm not seeing what I should. Seems far to quiet. Something is not quite right.
Send the signal to the troops to hold fast while I check this out."

"Sir, the Militia scout is sending the signal hold and keep a sharp eye out. He senses something is amiss."

"Hold up men. Be on alert. You three, load powder and shot and move forward to the front wall. Fast gentlemen."

--- LaRRy (RIST09, RIST10, RIST11)

Hodgekins, let's show the colors. And Willie my young lad. Be ready to drum the orders that I give you.
On your sharpest men."

--- LaRRy (RIST12, RIST13)

"Men, back off slowly and over the wall. Keep a sharp eyes. I get an feeling that we are about to be dealt some unpleasantness in the next few minutes."

" I still see nothing or hear any unusual noises."

"EXACTLY, private!!"

"All clear here, Zach. Maybe your just over reacting or a little to much on edge?"

--- LaRRy (RIST14, RIST15, RIST16)

AT first, it was just a slight movement, then a bit of color appeared. A few seconds later the BRITISH DRAGOON showed himself!

--- LaRRy (RIST17, RIST18)

The blast of a gun shot shattered the quiet of the meadow. Immediately the Rhode Island men let loose their shot.

"SIR, SIR, the Militiaman has been hit! Sir, Zach is hit. FIRE! FIRE!"

--- LaRRy (RI19,)

The Dragoon mounted his horse and disappeared over the hill.

(NOTE: Okay, Okay ...you have to use your imagination a little bit here. Pretend he is "FLEEING" like a bolt of lighting ..^&grin)
Remember I said, keep it fun and silly!!

--- LaRRy (RIST23, RIST24

"IS ... Is he dead, Sir?"

"Yes, private, he is dead."

"Now what, Sir."

"We do what we have been trained to do soldier. REMEMBER THAT and you will be alright."

--- LaRRY (RIST22)

"You and You, over here, now.
I need you two to hightail it back to General Clark and tell him what has happened. We will hold this position until we can assess what the actual situation may be.
Make sure you tell them they fired the first shot. But by God we will fire the LAST one."

Amazing amount of effort you are going to Larry, right down to naming the soldiers. I will not get too involved with the characters, in case the one's I like get killed^&grin. On a side note, your collection is very nice. Robin.

On this side of the world ... Good Morning Robin,
It may be a lot of effort but it is NOT a bit of work. I really enjoy doing these scenes and sharing the figures and sets with everybody so I look forward to it every day.
Gee ... I'm sorry if I bump off one of your favorite characters ... :(.

Maybe ... if you tell me who you like this week I might spare him (OR HER {eek3}) ... for a while at least.
But I am a incorrigible old sot so NO guarantees ...{sm4}

Glad you're back, Wayne, for a look-see. Things will change a lot over time and I have MANY more dioramas planned as the story develops.
Appreciate your words, Sir

Thank you for your comments here and happy that you are enjoying the series.

So far you have only seen a few of the fantastic K&C AWI sets the Andy and friends make.

We still have to include the 1st NY Regiment.; the PA Regiments, the French Allies, the Indians (coming soon); the 42nd Scottish Highlanders, the Backwoodsmen and Militia, the 10th Lincolnshire and other British troops; the Royal Welsh Fusiliers; the Continental Marines; Washington's Guards and ALL my Artillery units.

quite a labor of love Larry...
even though it's work...
I'm sure you are enjoying yourself while getting to play with your collection for a bit...
