Six or seven years ago I walked into the Royal National Hotel in London on a mission to continue building up my Toy Army workshop collection. After purchasing I began perusing the tables. After a while I came across Mike Neville of K&C UK, he only had a couple of tables if memory serves then, and sraight away I was struck by the figures. I quite simply had never seen figures as realistic as these,I'd been collecting since the age of about seven but this was something wholly different . The quality lept out at you and it was obvious from remarks all around me that these figures were creating a buzz. Even though I'd spent my budget for the day I lingered around the tables transfixed by these figures.Mike happily told me all about them even though I confessed I had no more money that day.

As I walked out into the London sunshine and headed for home my whole collecting hobby was veering off in another direction. I have quite simply never looked back.

In the following seven years K&C have never ceased producing superior products, realistic, well made, varied and in depth they are for me and I suspect many thousands of collectors around the world the No1 producer in the world. The spectrum of varied ranges they produce cannot be matched by any other producer,I guess Britains can only come nearest in this plethora of historical choice. No one else can also offer such depth in a series as K&C do, just look at any of the WW2 ranges alone, who else can offer the amount of variation in men and machines, fighting and support troops, backdrops and diorama accessories.

Month after month Year after year we get wave after wave of superb releases making it very easy to build up a wonderful collection. All these things together is why K&C are No1.

I wanted on this thread in the K&C area for you guys to celebrate what it is about K&C that makes it no1 for you:)

For me it is the variety and the realism. K & C have a wide variety of lines that appeal to many of us in different way. Aside from World War II, I collect some WW I, the Crimea (sadly departed), American Civil War, Warbirds and some of the Real West, not to mention the glossy, which I would like him to make again. Following, my recent vacation to China, I'm even thinking of dabbling in a little SOHK. I was looking for some Chinese lions and couldn't find anything too suitable in Shanghai or Beijing. Too crappy or too expensive. However, K & C has one for $38 that looks great and it will soon be on the way to me. He has a variety of lines that appeal to a wide variety of collectors. How many companies can say that? Andy and K & C have a pulse on what the collectors like because he is a collector himself. In fact, he started the company so he could get his soldiers more quickly.

His figures are the most realistic because Andy served in the military and knows how figures should be posed.

If it weren't for K & C I doubt I would be in this hobby. I first came across them at a local dealer and I had never seen anything like them. They blew me away. They still do. I've toyed with other brands such as Figarti and recently First Legion but for me, it's still K & C.

In addition, he is readily accessible to all of us, answering our emails about yes, good idea, maybe or yes, good idea, but no, cannot do. Unparalleled customer service as well. If I send an email to Yan, Tammi or someone else at K & C, I get quick responses.

First saw K&C 8 or 9 yrs ago in Louisville Militaria show and in awe of the realism and wide range of WWII vehicles and figs. Detailing was amazing. Started collecting then. I enjoy seeing the new lines Andy puts out though I don't collect beyond the WWII and Naps ranges. K&C has always been my first choice to collect.

The fact that they revisited Arnhem/Market Garden when people were asking for it to be revisited and stuck with it, and also because they did try to revisit other ranges, such as Russians, and Falschirmijager!:)

More and more Falschirmijager!;),,Schwimmwagen,Krup protze OLALALA:)

I appreciate K&C for so many reasons.

1) They've provided me with so much fun, joy and happiness over the years in recapturing my youth and passion for toys and history. That is something intangible that can never be repaid. They are the reason I got back into the hobby.
#2) Nobody has the depth of releases in so many areas (especially my favourite WWII) as they do.
#3) Reasonable price for what you get when compared to the rest of the industry.
#4) Creativity, colour, artistry and sculpting prowess of their pieces and the accompanying terrific marketing literature.
#5) Constant, reliable releases spread over time to allow collectors the ability to amass their collections.
#6) I respect, admire and like the man at the helm. I find him humourous, well spoken, direct, honest and full of integrity. I also enjoy Andy's postings and general participation on this forum.
#7) I cherish the strategy they use by releasing mainstream pieces in order to fund the more obscure pieces nobody else will do, not for great profits ( as they likely are not great sellers ) but for the passion they have for history and the joy of collecting.

Do I get the WAG of the year award? :p;):D

Thank you for all of the above K&C and keep up the great work.

As a kid, I collected Britains Deetail and then moved into Britains Metal Models, also Trophy, Tradition. Then in 1980 for getting straight A's (I Know, a true geek), my Dad came home from New York City and brought me from FAO Schwarz a hand painted 54mm Matte finish Napoleonic Band made by Reeves INternational, but truth be told it was King White from China. I was hooked, as much as I loved my Britains/Trophy and still do by the way, these matte finish figures nailed me. I loved them, still have every one of them and have all but a few of the complete catalog. Well, they actually have a part in the King & Country story, so I actually knew K&C before I realized it. So, fast forward to years 2002 - 2004, still collecting, but now back into it hard and heavy, buying Britains, Trophy, Tradition, anything Civil War. I found the K&C LAH Parade series on a website and saw the Goering Staff Car and the Drumhorse. WOW, I couldn't believe "evil" could look so real. I waited a year to buy anything, of course, all of those pieces retired 2 months b/f I bought a large number of LAH figures. This started it all and put me squarely into World War 2 and the the thrill of the chase for the early stuff. It also introduced me to the NYC SYmposium and finally Chicago, a great ride thus far! Can't not mention Rick at Figarti too, he and Andy compliment each other nicely in offerings as well as they are 2 of the finest people you will meet. What other hobby do you find that in?
