I looked at the book yesterday and this will be THE book on K & C glossy. It is beautifully photographed by Kevin and handsomely written by Louis. Instead of scurrying to the brochures, you will be able to consult this book. An invaluable reference book. This will, in my view, appeal to all glossy collectors.

I would love too, I have met John and and am a great admirer of both him as a 'good bloke' and his work.

All we would need is a complete collection to photograph and the necessary information.

The photos for a 1/30 Figarti book are possibly 70-80% done and there are probably enough sets to fill the 160 page format I use. They are around 3-400 photos per book, usually nearer or more than 400 (glossy K&C is over 400).

This is pencilled in as possible at Vol 7 or 8.

I would love to, John's products are amazing, but it would be difficult, as I only collect John's Jacobite series, and the new Sudan series (I think, as he gave me one of the two masters, that I may be the first collector of this series). We would have to work with collector(s) who have all of the other JJD figures available for study and photography.

I admit that I actually started to like the glossy figures - shock horror from an ardent WW2 matt man!

It has 388 photos, a number at full size page 13" by 11". It is not strictly speaking a catalogue, but is probably the next best thing set out as it is - as a photobook on historical lines.

Almost all of the glossy sets made are included thanks to Louis and Lawrence, including some amazing material you will probably never see 'live' in your life.

What is the size difference between the full sized books and the small ones and what is the reduction in picture size in the small book?

The Vol 1 and 3 K&C books - in fact all that series - are the large format, coffee table books, see photo. They are 13x11". They only come hardback and with premium paper they are very nice books but expensive. They are a good format for showing the soldiers and vehicles especially, the smaller format is not as good so I tend to put one photo to a page.

The expensive is relative however, I will never get back my expenses never mind the time spent.

Also, Vol3 388 photos of the most amazing glossy sets you will never own yourself..........how much is that worth, as credit card adverts say, it is priceless (thanks to Louis and Lawrence).

Anyway, this latest format is aimed to be cheap as it is very little work in comparison. The size is 10x8" so most photos will be around 8 or 6 by 4" I guess.

The 'baby K&C books' are just thoughts, so...................what would you want to see? For example, I had almost finished a winter dio book (mixed sets not catalogue type at all) some months ago. I also wondered about featuring some of the lines in the big books that are comprehensive but very pressured for space so maybe only one photo shown in stead of many.

Would appreciate your thoughts.
