King & Country book (1 Viewer)

Can i price it in pounds for delivery to canada, or does it have the be in $us. Think it might be cheaper with our $ to pounds.

You can buy it in pounds, using a credit card, and have it shipped anywhere. A forum member PM'd me last night that he bought the book in pounds, had it shipped to him in the U.S., and the total cost with shipping was $102 U.S.:)

Just ordered mine.

Thanks for buying the book, hope that you enjoy.

Meanwhile here are a couple of tasters for the glossy and warbird volumes..........

Well, Kevin is heading home in the morning. We shot the last few shots we needed for volumes 2 (warbirds), 3 (Glossy from 1984 through 1996) and 4 (Vietnam and Modern Wars).

For volume 3, we were able to photograph all but 3 of the regular production glossy figures from 1984 through 1996, and several of the one of a kind special figures made during this period.

For volume 2, we will have photographs of more than ninety (90) different Warbirds, from the very first ones in 1989 to one released last week.

For volume 4, we will have photographs of every single Vietnam, Gulf War, Afghanistan and Iraq set, along with all three of the special dioramas K&C made for these wars (Vietnam Firebase, Tet Offensive Street Scene, and Iraqi dioramas).

It was an incredible two weeks, and I think you will really like the upcoming volumes of the pictoral history of King & Country:)

Does Volume 1 have basically all of and only the WW2 sets (i.e. no ACW, RTA etc.) except for LAH?

What are you going to do about the planes not in your collection?

Terry,

Volume 1 is WWII from the first set in 1989 through the second Arnhem release in 1998. There is nothing but WWII in the first volume.

The third volume includes all other (non-WWII) production from 1984 through 1996. It includes glossy Seaforth Highlanders, glossy lancers, glossy bands, glossy K&C Field Force (Royal Artillery and Indian Army Maxim Gun and Field Gun sets), glossy Afghans, glossy Zulus, glossy Boxer Rebellion Chinese, glossy Indian Army Camel Corps, Glossy Guards Camel Corps from the Sudan, glossy Napoleonics, Glossy Civil War, glossy American War of Independence, Glossy Commerative Edition figures (WWI and Modern Jet Pilots, Gulf War Marines), Glossy Entertainment Related Figures (Movie and Pop Stars, Broadway Musical figures), Glossy Race Horses and Jockies, Glossy Streets of Hong Kong up to 1996, glossy modern Hong Kong Police, glossy Royal Hong Kong Regiment, Glossy Mounted Officers and various marching figures, glossy Palio Standard Bearers, glossy Rough Riders, Glossy Ancient Romans, and glossy Golfer figures.

What are you going to do about the planes not in your collection?

In addition to the 73 planes I have in my collection, we shot 6 planes I didn't have from Evilchuck's collection, about 8 planes I didn't have from Larry Lo's collection, and Hans is shooting several planes I don't have in his collection. Obviously, as between original production and present production there are over 150 Warbirds, many of which we have never even seen, the Warbirds book will not be able to depict them all.

Anybody who wants to take some shots of warbirds in their collection and forward them to me, I would be happy to try to include them in the Warbirds volume.

It's too bad you couldn't have made the time to photograph the planes that Harvey and I have in our collections but that's life.

We only had four days of good weather for shooting in the entire time Kevin was in New York, and one of those days Kevin's camera broke and we had to buy him a new camera the next morning. Plus, during the week I had to work much of the time. We tried to clear Monday and Tuesday to come to shoot your collections, but you weren't available because of your work schedule. It was just a combination of poor weather and bad timing.

Louis,

Did I ever send you pics of the California Bank set (Am Rev War), special set with a flagbearer who has the Don't Tread on Me Snake Flag? I know that would be a later volume, but if you want it, I have the set out now and a better camera than before and can probably do some nice shots if you want this. It (from what I was told) was unique to this set.

Tom

Tammi may have a better version of this photo. The ME 109 on the left (flown by Bartels) is in my collection, the ME 109 on the right I believe is in Hans' and I don't know who has the Fokker.

Stunning photos all round, I especially like the Hydro (do you really say it like this:D:D:D:D).

Paulo

Dear Paulo

Thank you for the kind words. I think you made yourself perfectly clear with Hydro.

I am not sure how we would say it? A picture of a model plane by a pond perhaps doesn't quite do it?

Here is another we won't use in the book, like the figure!
