KING & COUNTRY Dispatches -- December 2014 (1 Viewer)

Wonderful releases and the capper are the IJN releases. Been asking for the Zero forever and now I have 2 to choose from (or to get:wink2:), along with the fantastic looking figures. The Pearl Harbor Strike Force is shaping up nicely. Could be the start of a whole first strike dio, with perhaps a D3A 'Val' and a B5N2 'Kate' to come. Now, to find a Japanese carrier deck... Bravo, Andy. Beautiful job. -- Al

How good does this pic look.

My Japanese carrier deck is waiting for one of these planes and crew.

TORA TORA TORA works for me this month release {sm4}

Aussies AND New Zealanders - a real ANZAC mix - thanks Andy....and for the reduced price...very timely with the Aussie dollar taking a strong dip. Very nice series of Dickens. Not really my thing but I can see a few of these ending up in 'behind-the-lines' Napoleonic dio's...and also at a reduced price...thank you thank you....:salute::
Ditto for me as well.....Outstanding Great War figures :salute:: keep them coming please....Gallipoli next :wink2:
Wayne.

Those are some very impressive looking releases in all ranges. Can't remember a month this impressive.

Very timely choice.... we will finally see if the Pacific War will sell. I will be buying the lot .... would love to hear Andy's comments about where he sees the direction of this JN line..... ie a one time deal around pearl harbour or will K&C fully develop this line... ie carrier tower façade etc...

while figarti did the doo- little raid, medium bombers are difficult to display due to space but I guess a few of them will find their way back to shangra la so I think this K&C concept is more realistic for the average collector trying to do a carrier based diorama....

cheers
Jay

I have really only been an AWI collector ... that is UNTIL NOW.
Those Imperial Japanese Navy sets are tremendous. I had hoped that a WWII Pacific would be rejuvenated by K&C and it looks like this may be the beginning. As Jay mentioned, I really hope that we see Carrier Deck Section, Control Towers, below deck hangers and pilot briefing rooms, etc.

Yes, it can be big, but if it is done in pieces then any collector can expand (or not) as their space allows.

Just when I was focusing on figures (including Dickens), along comes the Zero. This will be my 20th plane over the last 5 years. And the accompanying figures are extremely nice. Would be a shame not to get a few of those as well. The Zero and Corsair were the only remaining must haves on the WWII front for me. Great work Andy!

Well said Bob, couldn't agree more mate, hopefully Andy will add some more Kiwi's to the 'ANZAC mix' in the not too distant future, especially with the 100yr anniversary of Gallipoli just over the horizon. The WW1 stretcher & wounded set look awesome too!:salute::

The Outstanding Great War figures for my.
I'm already planning a new Great War diorama.
Hope Andy also comes with an group gas attack victims.
which fit very well with the new figures.

As a long time collector (like a good many of you Treefroggers) I have reached the point where limited space prevents me from meaningfully adding to an already bloated collection. :redface2: I don't collect boxes, if I can't display my pieces I just as soon not have them. Because I now have to be so selective about purchases I have not added FW, PnM, WoD, endless grey Germans etc. Its not that I don't think those series have really good figures. Case in point FW171 I think is exceptional. Look how realistic and detailed the dirty, blood soaked bandage is. Gone are the days of the "red blob" for wounds! Even the King George sculpt (FW174) looks like the man. 2014 for me has been kind of a blah collecting year......... that is until now because 2014 has been saved by the release of the new JN series! :salute::
The Zeros and some of the accompanying naval air force figures ( JN006 ) are just the kind of additions my collection has sorely needed for awhile and I'll certainly make some room for them. They look great. Thanks K&C and I look forward to more Pacific pieces possibly from the Allied side. While this series will never be a core focus I will certainly add a few select pieces as WWII cannot be done any justice without some representation of the Pacific conflict.

Like the new English civil war sets and can see the appeal of the Japanese sets, but not my interest, look good however. No US troops for the Battle of the Bulge yet?

Good array of Royalist's. The building backdrop will be useful also. Robin.

Perhaps the US Bulge releases will make it next month. I'm going to the London show this coming Saturday and - if he's there - I'll ask Andy about it!

Truly one of the best pieces of WW1 art . We have this at the IWM . When you look at it up close it is mesmerising , the more you look the more detail you see. Wonderful, moving and so evocative.

With you on the stretcher case Toddy - the most believable life-like face I've seen on a military figurine. And yes, some more Kiwis would be great for the ANZAC Centenary.

All those casualty figures...???....an opportunity for bulk pack plastic figures??

Pike and Musket artillery set and entourage
is a must. The Zero is very tempting
Got to analyse the real estate (u know what i mean)

Guys/Andy,
You ran out of imagination? or just looking for a quick profit on old re runs?
The house is the old French Farm house from earlier times.....NOT THE LEAST AN ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE COTTAGE...still carries the French flair to it....Were you to have included a more TUDOR or late English Renasance, maybe...would pass as English Civil War..and the walls are the desert walls with a few twists ..... the old wall sections with the hen pen and the double gate and little roof was way nicer....
Sorry a feeling a bit left down by the creation department here....
I see this type of quick buck move in the 1990s US Auto industry when year versus year they would promote a little change a detail here and there, a new fender style but the Car was the same....Have you been hiring old DETROIT FOLKS lately?
IN SUMMARY AN AIR OF D'JAVOU.....
Cheers

A larger, more detailed and better proportioned update of an old favorite...Walls and a Courtyard Gate will be added later – a really useful piece!

Nt sure why KnC decide this to be in blue... but I would say it look better if is in white - same as the rest of the flight deck crews
