KING & COUNTRY Dispatches -- March 2019 (3 Viewers)

The toy soldier market of today is very different from the market of 15 years ago. The Winter Tiger WS070(SL) is still one of the all time most popular sets even though there have been dozens of Tiger versions produced by several manufacturers since then. It was limited to 999 sets - a huge number compared to the size of releases today. Rommel's GREIF AK029(SL) was limited to 750 sets. The just released Winter Stug III BBG118 looks like a repaint of BBG049. I think it looks well done but hardly special even limited to 200 sets.

Correction - repaint of WH083

So its been awhile since my last King & Country purchase. For sometime now I have been fighting off the Vietnam range for the longest time until this set was released. Just had to have this one so I finally caved. Needless to say I'm very pleased with this set. By far one of the better sculpts I have seen for a GSD. Granted I will take the metallic ring off the dogs back but that's a quick fix. Well done K&C I'm officially lured back to the brand and I'm looking to next months budget to fit more Americans in.

Joe,
I think the same thing is about to happen to me. The sculpts for the VN figures look amazing. I like the one you started with. Thanks for the photo.

I'll definitely be getting more. It's a good looking figure and I have to imagine the rest will be just as good.

Believe me my friend, the rest of our 'Vietnam' range are just as good as that 'War Dog' set...

I know that's immmodest but I truly believe that the series figures, be they USMC, Vietnamese or Aussie, are some of the best and most natural work K&C has ever produced in the 36 year history of the company!

Earlier this week I handed over almost a dozen new designs to our top sculptor that included American 'tank riders' and some Marines in action with M14's...

This 'Vietnam' series has long, long legs...And we've just begun to fight!
All the best and happy collecting,
Andy.

Great to read this Andy and its awesome to hear you sounding excited about future releases too!

While most of us won't around during WW2, many collectors remember the Vietnam conflict regardless of age.

Looking forward to seeing those future releases mate!

PLEASE Andy .. don't forget the "LEGS" on the USMC WWII guys. :redface2: So much more to add!!
With probably a few exceptions, what you make for the USMC WWII Pacific can be used for the USMC Vietnam and visa-versa (With slight modification of course)

Many Thanks for both the Pacific and Vietnam line.

I'm looking forward to adding the KGL cavalry to my Napoleonic collection. I missed out on the German riflemen that K&C did a few years back, so these cavalrymen will fill that particular gap.
