King&Country Gathering with Andy......San Antonio,Texas 16 March 2012 (1 Viewer)

Firstly thanks to PA for even taking the time to inform the forum about the Texas show. Secondly my two cents about this forum's use. This is directed to not only DesertKiwi but really everyone and even the lurkers out there who rarely post. This forum should ADD to your enjoyment of your recreational hobby, not DIMINISH it. As such use the forum as you would a tool. Some like the historical rivet discussions, others like the positive criticism/debates, some are "cheerleaders" and enjoy pics, others prefer the social element to collecting etc etc etc. Whatever catergory or categories you seem to fall into its all good. Use this forum to pursue your passion your way and if your way doesn't jive with someone else's then ignore it and focus your time and energy on another thread or section of the forum that adds to your enjoyment of your collection.....AND THATS AN ORDER FROM YOUR CYBER FIELD MARSHALL........FALL OUT!:salute::

Thanks Cyber Field Marshall.........:salute::

Hi Cyber Field Marshall......I totally agree 100% spot on and appreciate your words of wisdom, however I think you slightly miss my point though. It would be easy to ignore certain comments etc etc and to a large extent I have for a very long time, as have many others. But by ignoring them and not saying anything I'm also to a degree condoning their behaviour and there tiresome tit for tat banter that regularly hijacks and disrupts threads for no apparant reason other than to cause offence. Don't get me wrong I'm all for constructive critisum, but there is a fine line and recently I've found the same persons going at it time and time again.......it's not on!

Kind regards

So its an open forum to talk about the hobby,as long as K&C is not talked about in a negative way? Anybody who has anything to say negative about them is the bad guy and brings the hobby down? Talk about nazi germany!

Mousse, to link this hobby/forum to Nazi Germany is beyond called for, (whatever point your trying to make) and yea it is a open forum but not for comments like that...Sammy

Censorship is my point

I've been through this before. You can be censored on here. But not for talking negativly about K&C. What PA has done on this thread becomes an excellent source of information welcomed by all. Having paint chips falling off is good information, but the point is a certain negativity provided by individuals in order to add stressors to threads not agreable or made by them. You will see the pattern soon as to whom this may pertain to.

Back to thread topic.

Thanks PA for the heads up and info you gave, and all the ones who have verified Andy's habits on sales. I found most of this thread informative. This time I am backing thebritfarmers previous statement.

Due to repeated attempts at hijacking...Chocolate Mousse has been removed from this thread.

P.S. To answer a earlier question, no the conversations at our parties are not dominated with Alamo talk, WW2 is the talk of the town!!!

Almost here, see you soon!!!

Outstanding, Just a few short weeks away. I cannot wait. I collect a wide range of soldiers with a large emphasis on antique. I hope there will be a bigger turn out then the early years on older soldiers. Of course I will love to see and buy the new ones as well.

I hope to meet many members there.

Hello and welcome!

I am a new member as well. I was reading this thread and could not help notice your call sign! Paul Von Lettow Vorbeck!!!!! It does not get any better then that!! The only undefeated commander in all of WW1's Axis powers I believe?? I have read "My Reminiscences of Africa" by Vorbeck as well as Tip and Run by whom I do not remember. Outstanding reads.

Well welcome aboard and I will look for your posts!!

Tschüss, Ludwig

Thank you for your kind greeting and great words for a great man!

Hussar D L G,

So Andy will be at the show, what about Helen and Gordon? What can we expect to see at the K and C booth? Any surprises??? Any of Gordon's dynamite displays?
I am personally looking forward to the next round of WWI German planes! I was lucky to round up all three of the Albatross first release. These Fokker aircraft will be great as with the two final albatross coming later. I plan to get them all and the four new singles as well. I am glad they have added pilots. I am considering an aerial display.
I hear this is the first year that K and C will run/ sponsor the entire Texas Show as Toy Soldier San Diego decided to stop. Is this true?
How about a little insight into what other dealers might be there.

Ludwig!
