Very amusing. They go out of stock on this item almost every month. Just sign up to get an e-mail when they come in, and you can get some if you are interested. I had to wait a couple of weeks, but when the e-mail came, I was able to order 10 right away.
 
Further update. Framing is complete, the electrician has finished all the initial electrical work (the rest has to be done one the framing is completed) and the HVAC guy started today. He expects to have the AC work done by tomorrow (connecting four ducts and an air return to the central air system), and then the heating work will start.
 
Make sure you don't lose yourself so much in all these brilliant glass cases:D that you forget the reason you bought them, to put the soldiers in them!!!!!!:D:D

Remember to put DO NOT TOUCH signs everywhere:D, just incase people forget where they are:D
 
I can't wait to see your collection in all its newly constructed glory.
I'm assuming you've built in room for future growth...
 
If I can't fit future growth into my third floor, I have to buy another house, because there is no way Meredith is going to let me start expanding down stairs again!

Carlos, I couldn't agree more. On every holiday, birthday, anniversary or other gift giving occasion I take her to her favorite jewelry store, and tell her to pick out a few things she likes. She always chooses one really expensive piece (about twice what she knows I want to spend) and a couple of pieces in my price range. I always buy her the really expensive piece I know she really wants. That's why I get away with what I get away with when it comes to my collection. Heck, she even bought me a classic K&C warbird for X-Mas!
 
Hello All,

After visiting Louis's house during my familys vacation to NY I can tell you first hand that the museum will be a masterpiece!!! There will be seating for 30-40 people if I am not mistaken and a beautiful view of the lake across the street for Louis to gaze out each day while sitting and enjoying his collection in all it's splendor. The layout and design will make everything very visible and in a very nice size room, which will probably fill up pretty quickly.

I am very excited to see it in March at the symposium. It will be well worth the trip to anyone out there interested in seeing it.

I also wanted to thank Louis and his wife for having my family and myself over to his house during the vacation days. I know it 's hard to have people during this time and I can't thank Louis and his wife enough. We also had dinner out together at a nice Steak House and had a wonderful time talking toy soldiers and getting to know each other a little better.

I also had the pleasure of having dinner at Larry Lo's place which is a must stop for anyone traveling to Manhattan. The food is incredible! I know some of you ate there last year during the symposium and know what I am talking about. Larry is a true gentleman and I am happy to know him.

Friends like these were made possible through the collectiing of toy soldiers. This really shows you what can come of something so simple! Now if maybe the rest of the world would join in it might be a better place for all of us!

Bill also got to read a few chapters from the text of the K&C book (which is completely drafted, and must not be edited, formatted and have the photographs taken and inserted). He helped me do a little editing, we added a couple of pieces of information, so Bill got to put his own personal imprint on the book.
 
Louis...can you take some pictures and post them of your progress on your Museum?

I picked the paint color today. When I take the photos upstairs, if I can I will take a shot of the carpet sample, the fabric swatch and the paint chip so you can get a feel for the look I chose.
 
I'm taking the pictures tonight, because sheetrocking starts tomorrow. I want to get some progress shots before that happens.
 
I sent Brad 9 photos of the progress of the construction to post. The photos contain some old furniture (which will be moved to the garage) and a bunch of boxes of K&C stuff (which will be unpacked for display and then stored behind the knee walls), but will permit some idea of what I intend to do. Imagine 5 display cases spaced around four chairs along each knee wall, three long library style tables down the middle of the main room with dioramas on them, a 12 foot long platorm under the rear windows for displaying dioramas tucked behind a 12 foot long banquet for more seating, and a comfortable seating area in the front of the main room consisting of an "L" shaped wrap around banquet (blocking the view of the A/C unit but not of the front windows) and a love seat, with a flatscreen TV hung from the outside wall of the office. One side room will be my office (with a platform for displaying a diorama) and the other will be the aircraft display room (with a 12 foot long 6 foot wide platform for a huge RAF airfield diorama). What do you think?
 
Here are the photos, this shot is taken from the front of the main room (45 feet long, 12 feet wide), facing back. You can see the framing of the knee walls and 8 foot high ceiling, as well as the installed recessed lighting and the ducts for the central air.:
